Dialogue symbols indicate the type of response you'll give during conversations in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn what each dialogue symbol means and how to check which symbols are important to the story.

Dialogue Symbols Explained

Assassin's Creed Shadows will feature dialogue choices with accompanying symbols indicating the intent behind each choice. Shown below are some of the few you'll encounter while playing story quests.

All Dialogue Symbols
ScalesScales Symbol This means you're about to lie to the person you're speaking to.
Red SwordsRed Swords Symbol This means this choice will cause a fight to break out.
Red SkullSkull Symbol This choice means you're about to choose to kill someone.
Recruit IconPerson with Plus Sign Symbol This choice means you'll recruit an ally to the League.
Exit IconExit Door Symbol This choice means you're about to exit the conversation.
FlirtingHeart Symbol This means you're about to flirt with the person.
RomanceHeart with Arrow Symbol This means you are about to get the final romance scene for this ally.
Break UpHeart with Slash This means you are about to break up with the character you romanced.

Which Dialogue Symbols are Important?

Set Dialogue Icons to Crucial to See Important Choices

If you only want to see choices that impact the story of Assassin's Creed Shadows, then you can go to System > Options > Gameplay and set your Dialogue Icons to Crucial only.

In this mode, only story-critical and gameplay-critical choices will show up with symbols, allowing you to identify important choices. However, do note that romance icons are not considered story-critical choices. On Crucial-only icons, flirting and romance symbols won't appear.
