Praying at shrines will reward players with either a temporary buff or a Knowledge Point and XP in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn more about what praying at shrines does and the buffs you can get from smaller shrines.

What Does Praying Do?

Praying at Small Shrines Grant a Temporary Buff

Praying at small shrines will grant the player with a temporary buff. These shrines are unmarked so you'll usually encounter them while exploring the open world. If you're on a mission, stop by to pray just to get a buff for any combat you may have to do.

Bigger Shrines will Grant a Knowledge Point and 500 XP

Bigger Shrines marked by a dark orange shrine icon are called Shrine Activities. These POIs will task you with praying at a certain number of small shrines within their vicinity. Complete the required number and you will be rewarded with a Knowledge Point and 500 XP.

Do Shrine Buffs Wear Off?

Shrine Buffs are Temporary

Buffs have a set duration, expiring after the timer runs out. This timer is indicated below the health bar.

Extend Buff Duration by Upgrading the Hideout

Players can upgrade their buff duration by upgrading their hideouts. Gather materials throughout your journey in order to upgrade your hideout and gain access to new features.
