Posture Attacks are performed by holding down the light or heavy attack buttons in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn more about posture attacks, what they do, and how you can improve them.

What is a Posture Attack?

High Damage Attack by Holding the Light or Heavy Attack Button

Xbox	Hold (light) or (heavy)
PS5	Hold (light) or (heavy)
PC	Hold (light attack) Hold + (heavy attack)

A posture attack is simply a modified light or heavy attack that you can perform by holding the light or heavy attack button. After holding down the attack button, wait for your weapon to shine white then release the input to do a posture attack.

These types of attacks are usually reserved for breaking the blocking stance of enemies or for performing Weak Point attacks against vulnerable enemies.

How to Improve Posture Attacks

Equip Engravings that Modify or Boost Posture Attacks

Engravings are your go-to when it comes to improving or modifying Naoe's or Yasuke's posture attacks. Some legendary engravings will allow you to instantly charge posture attacks, while others simply increase the damage you can do with them.

To start engraving your items, make sure to upgrade your Forge to Level 2 back at the Hideout. Level it up to 3 in order to use Legendary Engravings as well.

Boost Damage Using Character Paths

At Knowledge Rank 6 and beyond, you'll gain access to Character Paths for both Naoe and Yasuke. Essentially, these are a set of Global Passives that boost their prowess as a shinobi or samurai.

When you reach Knowledge Rank 6, consider investing in the Damage with Posture Attack passive for either character in order to improve your posture attacks. This passives caps out at Rank 20, allowing you to get a max +30% more damage from posture attacks.
