What Happens When You Die

Players won't suffer a penalty when they die or desynchronize in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on how desynchronization works, and where you load back from!

You Reload from Your Last Save

Desynchronize Load Save

Desynchronizing in Assassin's Creed Shadows will give players the option to reload from their most recent save and open the save menu. As players have no control over when autosaves happen, we recommend to frequently save manually in case you get stuck and need to backtrack.

How to Save

Is there a Death Penalty?

There is No Penalty for Dying

Loading Screen

Players who desynchronize will not suffer a penalty to their resources and such upon dying. The only thing players will lose is their progress starting from their most recent save.

Other Ways to Desynchronize

Killing Civilians will Desynchronize You

In universe, the Order of Assassins never killed civilians. If you do so enough times, the game will force desynchronization on you, bringing you back to your last save point.
