The best language setting is the immersive mode of Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows), paired with your native language's captions. Read on to see how to change languages and a list of all available languages.
For this game, we recommend players to play with the immersive mode turned on, with players turning on captions and setting them to their native language. This sets all dialogue to a mix of Japanese and Portuguese, allowing players to immerse themselves in the world of Assassin's Creed.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will have 7 voice-over languages available. However, do note that if you choose to play on Immersive Mode, these settings will be overwritten, defaulting into a mix of Japanese and Portuguese instead of your chosen voice language.

There are 12 text language options to choose from in AC Shadows. These primarily affect the text of UI elements as well as in-game subtitles.
Players can change their game language by opening the settings and scrolling to the Audio tab. Go to the General settings under audio, and turn off Immersive Mode. This will allow players to change the voice language of the game.
Players can also go to the Interface tab and change the text language. This not only changes the language of the captions, but also the HUD and menu elements, making this setting important to non-english speaking players.
