How to Unlock Out to Pasture
Talk to the Farmer East of Sakai
The quest marker for Out to Pasture will pop up on your map if you travel east from Sakai and reach a farm south of the river. Talk to one of the farmers inside to start the quest.
Out to Pasture Walkthrough
Kill 100 Bandits
The worried farmer will ask you to deal with the bandits causing trouble to the farmers and their livestock. Only bandits within the Izumi Settsu region will be counted, regardless if you found them in enemy bases, out in the wild, or while doing quests.
If you want to focus on the objective of this quest, you can go around hostile points of interest, or those marked with a red diamond on the map, to hunt bandits. However, not all hostile areas have bandits, as you will find samurai in areas like the military districts.
Best Bandit Hunting Locations
The best locations for bandit hunting are Toneyama Post Town and Eguchi Crossing, along the north border of Izumi Settsu.

Kabukimono Members Can Also Be Found
Be careful in clearing these hostile points of interest, particularly the Money Changer District in Sakai and the Katano Oil District in Katano, as members of the Kabukimono could be also in the area. These are elite ronin in the Settsu region that are also part of the Kabukimono questline.

Other than the usual EXP and Mon rewards, you will also get Silk and Ironsand after eliminating 50 and 100 bandits, respectively.
