How to Increase Knowledge Rank

Increase knowledge rank by completing activities that reward knowledge points in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn how to get knowledge points and see a list of all knowledge point activities.

Complete Activities to Gain Knowledge Points

Knowledge Rank

To increase your Knowledge Rank, you'll need to collect Knowledge Points by completing the different Naoe and Yasuke activities scattered throughout the open world. Once you've obtained enough points, you Knowledge Rank will automatically go up. New abilites can be unlocked up until Knowledge Rank 6.

Knowledge Ranks 6 to 8 Also Unlock Character Paths

Character Paths

After reaching Knowledge Rank 6, you'll gain access to Character Paths - a set of global passives you can unlock using remaining Mastery Points. Reach Knowledge Rank 8 to unlock all global passives for purchase.

How to Farm Knowledge Points

Complete Activities to Earn Knowledge Points

Activities Description
ShrinesShrines Pray to Shrines around the map to gain temporary buffs and a Knowledge Point.
TemplesTemples Collect Lost Pages scattered around the temple.
KofunsKofun Explore a long and winding dungeon to obtain valuable loot.
Kuji-kiriKuji-kiri Meditate with Naoe and correctly time certain button inputs in this minigame.
Hidden TrailsHidden Trails Complete a parkour challenge indicated by the marked path.
KatasKata Practice your form as Yasuke with correctly timed inputs.
Horse ArcheryHorse Archery Shoot targets on horseback to hone your archery.

Activities are marked with a red icon and can be found around the map. We recommend players complete most of the activities in the starting area as the game gets significantly harder as you unlock Yasuke.

Some Activities are Only Available to Yasuke or Naoe

Some activities will require the player to play as either Yasuke or Naoe. This is because each character has abilities specific to them, such as Naoe's grappling hook.

Unlocks Higher Tier Abilities

Upgrade Skills with Knowledge Points

Increasing Knowledge Rank is required to unlock higher tier masteries. Invest points into every mastery even if you don't use them, as perks can be respecced to suit your build.
