Find and Talk to the Teppo Merchant
South of Negoroji, on the road leading up to it, is a merchant being harassed by two samurai. You can try speaking to them, but regardless the samurai will challenge you. After disposing of them, speak to the merchant and he’ll tell you that Asari Nobutane left to go to the bamboo grove nearby.
Find Asari Nobutane by the Bamboo Grove
Nearby, northeast of the merchant, is the bamboo grove in which Asari Nobutane is located. Head to the location, and he will be open to conversation. You cannot attack him beforehand and must speak to him as Yasuke to initiate the Teppo duel.
Beat Him in the Teppo Duel
When the duel begins, you will automatically wield a Teppo to fight with. You will not be able to access your inventory until after the duel.
Asari Nobutane frequently uses smoke bombs to reposition and obscure the source of his ranged attacks. He often hides behind bamboo to line up shots unseen, so if he disappears, quickly regain line of sight to track his shots and dodge accordingly.
There is a bullet refill box in the center of the arena to use if you run low on ammo.
Shoot the Red Barrels to Deal Heavy Damage
Shoot the red barrels when he's near them, as they’re far more damaging than regular bullets. After defeating him, Asari Nobutane honorably accepts his loss, and you'll have a brief conversation before receiving the quest rewards.

Upon winning the duel against Asari Nobutane, you'll immediately receive the quest rewards: Dark Burst Teppo for Yasuke, Teppo Multishot Engraving, +2 Mastery Points, and 2000 XP.
