Scouts are used to uncover quest objectives, smuggle resources back to your hideout, and clear out your wanted status in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn how to recruit more scouts, how to replenish them, and what scouts can do in-game.
In your Hideout, building the Study for the first time gives you +1 Scout to work with. You can upgrade the Study up to Level 3, recruiting an additional scout each level and improving quest searching ability.
After returning to Tomiko's Homestead during the From Spark to Flame main quest, a new side quest will spawn just outside of the hideout. Complete the short quest, Finding New Allies, to gain +2 Scouts.

For 200 Mon, you can replenish one scout at any Kakurega. If you are in urgent need of a scout when you've run out, this is your best option.
Building a connectable room called a Nando reduces the scout replenishment cost to 140 Mon.
Scouts replenish at the beginning of the next season automatically. They also return with any stockpiles you marked for smuggling back to the hideout.
Without the Guided Exploration Mode setting, you must gather clues to determine a potential area of an objective. After, you can optionally deploy Scouts to pinpoint their exact locations.
While exploring, you may find guarded Stockpiles. These can be marked, and while at the Hideout, you can assign a Scout to smuggle them out. The Scouts will return with the resources at the start of the next season.
