What is Adrenaline

Adrenaline is used to perform abilities in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to learn what Adrenaline is for and how to generate more Adrenaline Chunks in-game.

Adrenaline Chunks

Adrenaline is a special resource you generate in combat. It is measured in Adrenaline Chunks - the yellow diamonds that appear above your health bar in the bottom left of the screen.

These Adrenaline Chunks are consumed when using any of Naoe's or Yasuke's active abilities. Skills like Eviscerate, Guard Breaker, Payback, and Power Dash will all use up Adrenaline Chunks when performed.

Get the Vigor Passive to Increase Your Adrenaline Chunk Count

Vigor Passive

Players who want to increase the number of Adrenaline Chunks they have will need to spend Mastery Points and get the Vigor passive for Naoe and Yasuke. Naoe's Vigor passive is found in the Assassin Mastery tree, while Yasuke's Vigor passive is in the Samurai Mastery tree.

How to Generate Adrenaline

Land Hits or Perform Parries

The easiest way to generate Adrenaline is to land mutliple light attacks in combat. Whether playing as Naoe or Yasuke, light attack spam will be your go-to for Adrenaline generation especially when you have an easy way to proc Vulnerable.

Alternatively, landing Parries will generate Adrenaline for Yasuke. This is easier for him since he has a ton of passives and equipment perks that make Parrying easy and low-risk compared to Naoe's Deflect.

Upgrade Abilities to Get More Adrenaline Gain

Adrenaline Boost

Some abilities will have maxed out upgrades that reward you with Adrenaline Gain on hit. For example, Adrenaline Boost is the final upgrade for the Sheathed Attack passive, allowing you to get Adrenaline on hit with Sheathed Attacks.

Equip Engravings or Items with Adrenaline Generation

Adrenaline Gain Passives

Engravings will usually have perks that grant bonus Adrenaline Generation. The same goes for items, since a lot of weapons, armor, and trinkets can have the Adrenaline Gain stat.
