Players can now sprint while exploring the world of Cyrodiil by clicking on L3. In the original version, it was not possible to do so.

A crosshair was added for better aiming, both on first person and third person perspective. Before, there was only a vague transparent looking eye as a guide for aiming.

Combat now feels more immersive with added sound effects, visual effects, hit reactions, and controller feedback.

With the remastered game created using Unreal Engine 5, the environment of the game feels more realistic and atmospheric. The game now has better lighting and shadows, new combat animations, improved textures, and the lip syncing system that allows the movement of the lips of any race during dialogue to look natural.

New voiced dialogues have been added to the Oblivion Remastered, and each race now has a unique sound of their voices.

Previously, leveling up on the original game was based on Major Skills. Now the system was changed to a hybrid of Oblivion and Skyrim, where players can increase the Attributes of their character by distrbuting Virtue Points and raise skills by doing actions related to it.

The User Interface has received a major overhaul as well, not only visually but also the menu itself, and the shortcuts assigned to the d-pad.

The improved third person perspective now has a view and feel that is similar to the first person perspective. It has now better functionality and playability even in combat with an over-the-shoulder view.
