| Description | I have received my new orders from Lucien Lachance, I must go to Leafroot Cave and kill a Necromancer who has begun the process of transforming himself into a lich. This Necromancer, Celedaen, has not yet completed his metamorphosis but is still incredibly powerful -- possibly too powerful to kill if faced directly. I should search the cave for Celedaen's writings, and try to discover his weakness. |

Retrieve Your First Dead Drop Order
After completing The Purification, Lucien Lachance will tell you that from now on your contracts will only come from him. However, you will no longer receive your assignments directly in person. Instead, you must retrieve your orders at dead drop locations scattered around Cyrodiil.
He will then inform you that your next contract can be found at Hero Hill, which is located to the southeast of Cheydinhal, at the Valus Mountains.
Find the Hollowed-Out Rock
Follow your marker until you see a large rock outcropping near the top of a staircase.
Take the Dead Drop Order #1 from the Hollowed-Out Rock. This completes The Dead Drop Quest, and starts The Affairs of a Wizard quest.
Your next target is a Necromancer named Celaeden.
Head to Leafroot Cave
Make your way to Leafroot Cave, which is located far to the west of Bravil. Enter through the wooden door and go further inside the cave.
In the first area you reach, there will be a Skeleton lurking around. To your left is a table where you will find The Path of Transcendence book. Read it to learn that it is the Necromancer's journal, which also lets you know how to eliminate Celaeden.
Pickpocket Sands of Resolve from Celaeden
Lockpick the Average lock on the door to the left. In the next room is a zombie lurking around. Proceed straight through the door to Leafroot Hollow and jump down the hole in the ground.
You will find Celaeden roaming this area. Sneak up on him stealthily, and pickpocket the item Pickpocket Sands of Resolve from his inventory.
Once you succesfully steal the item, he will instantly die.
Alternatively, you can also kill Celaeden by just normally attacking him. If he spots you though, he will summon undead monsters, so be sure to eleiminate him quickly.
Pick Up Reward and Next Contract
After killing Celaeden, head to the city of Chorrol. Go straight towards the Great Oak, the large tree at the center. Find an Old Sack hidden in the bushes beneath it to retrieve your reward and next contract.
