Splat Zones Overtime Rules

Splatoon Icon Retake control of the Splat Zone

Splatoon Icon Neutralize or Capture at least one Splat Zone for ten seconds

Overtime in Splat Zones occurs once the timer reaches zero, but the losing team has full control of all zones or has recently lost control of their zones but the winning team has not retaken them yet.

This period of time gives the losing team one last chance to snag victory in the match!

Similar to King of the Hill modes in other games, your team needs to ink as many zones as possible to capture them. The team that controls each zone the longest and has less time left on their timer wins the match!

Splat Zones Tips and Tricks

Cover as Much Turf as Possible

Splat Zones is less about splatting the opposing team and more on capturing and holding as many zones as possible with Ink!

Focus on covering as much turf possible at the start of the match and only splat other players when you're trying to hold a zone, especially on Overtime!
