All Salmon Run Ranks: How to Increase Rank

Splatoon 3 - All Salmon Run Ranks How to Increase Rank

Splatoon 3 has a total of 9 ranks for Salmon Run Next Wave, including a brand new one beyond the Profreshional! Read on to learn the best way to rank up in Salmon Run, if rank differences affect evaluation, and a list of all ranks available in the game!

Best Way to Rank Up in Salmon Run

Try to Clear Wave 2

Wave Result Rating Gauge Change
Wave 1 Clear + 20
Failure - 20
Wave 2 Clear + 10
Failure - 10
Wave 3 Clear + 0
Failure - 0
Xtrawave Clear + 0
Failure - 0

Make sure to clear at least Wave 2 of the Salmon Run since even if you fail the last wave, you will not receive a deduction to your overall score. Additionally, even if you fail Wave 2, you will still get 10 points from clearing the first wave.

Conversely, avoid failing at Wave 1 since it has the biggest deduction to your rating gauge. Try to get all the required Golden Eggs and use your specials to salvage the run to avoid getting wiped out!

Xtrawave Has No Effect on Final Score

The Xtrawave where you fight King Salmonid Cohozuna has no effect on your final score whether you successfully clear it or not. Your final score will always increase by 20 points after successfully clearing Wave 3.

Does Rank Difference Affect Evaluation?

Higher Rank Doesn't Give More Points

Splatoon 3 - Job Review
When playing Freelance with Friends, the player with a higher rank will not receive more points when successfully completing a Salmon Run. Anothe player's rank also doesn't affect how many points the other party members get.

Keep in mind though that failing a Freelance Job with Friends will still cause a large decrease on your rank gauge, so coordinate with your team to avoid getting overwhelmed by Boss Salmonids!
