During Rush, Glowflies will randomly pick a player at the start of the wave. This attracts hordes of Chum, which are the only Lesser Salmonids that appear, and will swarm the player.
Chum have increased speed and power during Rush and are also accompanied by Goldies, which are the only Boss Salmonid that appears during this special wave and drop Golden Eggs.
Whenever a player with Glowflies get splatted, the Glowflies will move to another player. Additionally, after 15 to 20 seconds have passed, the Glowflies will move to another player on their own.
Pay attention to the glow around players and your character, as the hordes of Chum will immediately turn their attention to whoever is being swarmed by Glowflies!
Strategies for Glowfly Rush |

|
At the start of each wave, make sure to team up with the rest of your team and head to high ground to force the hordes of Salmonids to go up narrow pathways to the top levels.
Players who aren't targeted by the Glowflies should form a barrier in front of the targeted player to prevent them from getting splatted and causing the Glowflies to move to another player.
Players targeted by the Glowflies should avoid moving as the hordes of Salmonids will follow you. Moving around the stage causes the horde to swarm erratically and it's possible for other non-targeted players to get caught in the swarm and splatted!
Players who aren't being chased by Salmonids should do the Golden Egg collecting since the hordes of Chum will completely ignore them. This also ensures that the targeted player doesn't have to move around and cause the Salmonids to swarm chaotically.
After delivering Golden Eggs, head back and stay close to the group! Glowflies will jump to another player every 15 to 20 seconds and it's possible for a player venturing far to suddenly become the target of the Chum horde.
Stick close to your teammates so that you're all ready to switch roles once the Glowflies hop to another player!
Splatting the walls with ink and clinging to them may seem like a good strategy to avoid the swarm, but it actually forces the attacking Chum to jump at the wall you're clinging on in an attempt to knock you out of it.
This can prove troublesome as Chum tend to push each other around when jumping and several of them jumping will cause the swarm to spread out which makes splatting them more difficult to do.
Clinging to the walls means you can't help your non-targeted teammates to fight off the Salmonids. Only use this strategy if you're the last person left on the team and there's only a few seconds left before the next swarm to avoid a total wipeout.
