Ranks in Anarchy Battles

Ranking Tier System

Splatoon 3 - Anarchy Battle Ranks

Ranks are separated by five different tiers represented by a letter, denoting the skill group a player is in.

Each tier is further subdivided by - and + with the exception of S+0-50 which has its own ranking system based on a number.

Low Tier Low-Medium Tier Medium-High Tier High Tier
C-, C, C+ B-, B, B+ A-, A, A+ S-, S
Highest Tier Individual Ranking System
S+0-50

Everyone starts in the C-tier (except for those with Splatoon 2 saved data), from there they can start grinding up the ranking ladder to the highest rank, S+50!

As you continue to rise up in the ranks, you will notice that your opponent's skill have also increased - do not worry, this also means your teammates' skills are also on par with the enemy team!

S+ Individual Ranking Ladder

Splatoon 3 - Friends Ranked Battle

Once players reach S+0, they enter a separate ranking ladder where the best of the best compete against each other! This is the rank where you can consider yourself 'elite' as this is the highest tier that you can achieve.

The ranks here are now determined by a number. The higher the number, the more skilled that player is.

How to Rank Up Fast

Earn Points by Playing Anarchy Battles

Splatoon 3 - Match Start Show Team

Rank Points are gained by playing the official ranked game modes, Anarchy Battles Open and Anarchy Battles Series. The latter of which is the most popular way of attaining a large amount of points.

Anarchy Battles Open

Splatoon 3 - Anarchy Battles Open

Anarchy Battles Open is a game mode where you can play ranked with your friends. It doesn't require you to pay to play a match but will reward you with less Rank Points.

This is an excellent way to practice and play with your friends before taking up the challenges of Anarchy Battles Series.

Anarchy Battles Series

Splatoon 3 Anarchy Battles

Anarchy Battles Series rewards you with a substantial amount of rank points and even more should you have a higher rank!

This is a high-risk, high-reward mode as you have to pay with points to enter a series and will award you with more Rank Points in return should you win the series, but you will not gain any points if you lose.

How to Play Ranked Battles

Use a Weapon You are Familiar With

By using weapons that you have mastered, you increase your chances of winning! Using weapons that are also widely considered strong or 'meta-based' will give you an upper hand against highly-skilled foes.

Coordinate With Your Allies

Teamwork is an essential key in emerging victorious in Anarchy Battles. While the enemy team may be miles ahead in terms of individual skill, you can quickly overthrow them by working well with your teammates by effectively communicating with each other.

This outsmarts your opponents as your team will engage in coordinated manuevers and will definitely catch them off guard!

Ranking System Progression

Promotion Battles

Splatoon 3 - Friends NSO

When moving up to a different tier, for example C+ to B-, the promotion series will commence in which you must win three games before losing three.

Your rank will not drop even if you lose the series, so keep trying until you win!

Rank is Carried Across All Modes

Splatoon 3 - Clam Blitz Gameplay

In the previous Splatoon games, rank was different among all the game modes but in Splatoon 3, rank is shared across all ranked game modes.

This makes it easier to climb up the ladder as you no longer need to focus working on a separate rank in the game modes.

Rank Resets Every 3 Months

Original Rank After Decrease
C to S 2 Ranks Down
S+0 to S+9 S
S+10 and Above S+0

Ranks will be lowered by two tiers at the end of each season (excluding S+0 and above), which happens every 3 months.

This gives a chance for everyone to start on equal footing again, perfectly suited for those highly-competitive individuals who want to race to be the first on the top!
