• Splatting an enemy while under the effect of Opening Gambit will extend the effect duration by 7.5 seconds.

Best Weapons for Opening Gambit

Recommended for Close-Ranged Weapons

Opening Gambit is a strong ability that allows you to essentially beat your opponents in a race to take control of the middle area of a stage. Since you'll be much closer to your enemies, it's recommended to pick close-range weapons which excels in splatting enemies.

However, since this effect will only last for the first 30 seconds of the match, going into mid or late game will be harder for you, and therefore, putting this in your gear slot should be the lowest priority.
