These scales are a special currency only obtainable by fighting King Salmonid Cohozuna during an Xtrawave event after filling up the Salmometer.

How to Get and Claim Salmon Run Rewards

Get Rewards by Doing Freelance Jobs

Splatoon 3 - Salmon Run Points Screen.png

Rewards are earned by accumulating points during a Salmon Run, with the total amount of points you'll get affected by your Job Score, Pay Grade, and Clear Bonus.

The points your earn will only result in a reward if it reaches a milestone in the Bonus Meter. Even if you didn't successfully clear a Salmon Run, the points you earned still contributes to the Bonus Meter's progress.

Claim Rewards at the Reception Desk

Splatoon 3 - Grizzco Reception Desk

You can redeem your rewards from your recent Salmon Runs at the Reception Desk right next to Mr. Grizz's phone.

The Reception Desk will normally show items that you can exchange for Fish Scales, but clearing a freelance job will let you open any capsules you've earned as well as redeem any gear when interacting with the desk.

How to Get and Use Fish Scales

Press A to Open Capsules and Claim Rewards

Press the A Button to open and redeem all of the capsules and gear you've earned. You'll receive these rewards every 100 points earned doing Freelance Jobs up to 1200 points.

Once you reach the maximum points for the day, you'll receive new rewards every 200 points instead.

Rewards Tips and Tricks

Max Out the Bonus Meter Every Day

Splatoon 3 - Bonus Meter

You'll earn rewards on the bonus meter for every 100 points you earn, up to a maximum of 1200 points for that day. Once you reach this softcap, you'll only receive rewards for every 200 points instead.

It's better to try and earn the maximum 1200 points for the day before the stage changes the next day since it's more difficult to earn rewards once you reach the softcap.

There's also a risk of receiving a pay cut if you can't clear the Salmon Run, which will make it tougher to earn rewards the following day.

Bonus Meter Resets Every 40 Hours

Splatoon 3 - Bonus Meter

Your rewards' Bonus Meter resets every 40 Hours once the map changes, and will revert to 0 with the new rotation.

This means that if you manage to max out your bonus meter for the day, you only need to wait the next day for the new rotation to start earning new rewards again!
