Attacks with a Long-Range Ink Jet

Splatoon 3 - Attacks with a Long-Rang Ink Jet

The Stinger is a tall Boss Salmonid that will always spawn and stay near the shore where it will fire a long-range ink jet that can pass through objects.

Its attack only targets one player, but it can reach all the way to the other side of the stage and will hit any player caught in its wake!

Evade its Attack When Targeted

If you're the Stinger's target, prioritize evading the attack since rushing towards it while its attacking you is very tricky and you may get hit by the ink jet.

Try to draw the attack away from the team so they can safely attack the Boss Salmonid!

How to Beat Stinger and Strategies

How to Defeat Stinger

Splat the Pots Making Up the Tower

The Stinger is composed of 7 pots that make up its tower, with the Salmonid sniper sitting on the very top. The Salmonid itself is immune to ink, but you can destroy the pots by inking it.

Destroy all pots so that the Boss Salmonid falls on its own boiler where it will get instantly splatted!

Sloshing Machine Can Hit Multiple Pots

The Sloshing Machine's projectiles can hit multiple pots in one go when angled correctly. Aim your slosher upwards so that the projectile your weapon fires hits multiple pots!

Prioritize the Stinger

The Stinger is one Boss Salmonid you should always prioritize above every other enemy due to its long-range attack capable of passing through objects.

Though it's not as threatening as the Flyfish, you should still coordinate with other players and get rid of it fast to minimize the damage it can inflict damage to your team!

Single-Shot Weapons Aren't as Useful

Single-shot weapons like chargers are not as useful against the Stinger due to their low fire rate. If you're assigned this weapon at the start of the wave, you can focus on defeating other Boss Salmonids or the Lesser Salmonids accompanying it instead.
