DJ Octavio Boss Fight Guide and How to Beat

DJ Octavio, also known as Octobot King L3.Gs, is a recurring Boss in the Splatoon series and the first boss fight for Splatoon 3's Hero Mode. DJ Octavio Basic Info and How to Unlock

How to Unlock	Complete all Camp Cuttle stages

DJ Octavio is the first boss of Hero Mode, and his fight is unlocked by completing all of the Camp Cuttle stages. Head further down the path after clearing the mission What Are They? Can We Stop Them?!, and use Smallfry to remove the fuzzy ink. This will trigger a cutscene, and when it finishes, the fight with DJ Octavio will begin.

How to Beat DJ Octavio
DJ Octavio will try to attack you with his fists. Ink them as much as you can to fire them back at him.
With enough hits, he will be ejected from his robot's cockpit, making him vulnerable to attacks. Ink him 3 times to win the fight.
DJ Octavio's Attacks
Rocket Punch: DJ Octavio fires a slow-moving rocket punch at you. Ink it as much as you can before it lands to fire it back at him.
Drill Punch: DJ Octavio will fire a much faster moving drill punch that will land at your current location. Instead of shooting it while it is in the air, quickly move out of the way, and ink it when it lands to fire it back at him.
Shockwave Slap: DJ Octavio will fire one his hands to slam the ground. While this move is easily dodged, it will continue to generate shockwaves while it is in the arena. Be sure to ink it as soon as it lands.
Ink Vac: After hitting DJ Octavio once, he will start to use an Ink Vac, which will suck up your ink and prevent you from counterattacking. If he manages to suck up enough ink, he will fire a ball of ink back at you so toss Smallfry at him when he is using the Inc Vac to disable it

DJ Octavio Boss Fight Tips

Ink the Arena

Although the arena where you fight DJ Octavio is rather small, his attacks become rather easy to dodge if you ink the arena well and use swim mode. Having an inked arena will also help you counter DJ Octavio's Ink Vac since it can reduce your ink levels quickly if it is not disabled immediately.

Throw Smallfry As Soon as You See the Ink Vac

If you do not disable DJ Octavio's Ink Vac, you will not be able to counter his attacks. Make sure to throw Smallfry as soon as you get the opportunity.

How to Fight DJ Octavio Again

Head to the Final Area of Camp Cuttle

DJ Octavio can be fought again at any time by heading to the final area of camp Cuttle. The character's dialogue in the cutscenes will be slightly different, though they can be skipped by pressing the - button if you want. Note that you will have to use 1000 Power Eggs to clear the fuzz ink that leads to him each time that you want to fight him.

Recurring Boss in Splatoon

DJ Octavio is the leader of the Octarians and a recurring boss in the Splatoon series and is assumed to be the one responsible for stealing the great Zapfish. He first appears in Camp Cuttle, upon seeing Agent 3 and Cap'n Cuttlefish, mistakes them as the ones who have kidnapped his Octarian soldiers and attacks them.

After being defeated, it is revealed that it is someone else is responsible for kidnapping his Octarian soldiers as well as the great Zapfish. Before the true culprit can be revealed, however, a giant hole opens underneath him Agent 3 and Cap'n Cuttlefish, dropping them into Alterna.
