Creates Ink Rings While Jumping Around
The Flipper-Flopper is a curious Boss Salmonid that jumps around the stage from under the ink, creating ink rings where it will belly flop.
Although its belly flop can splat a player in one hit, the Boss Salmonid jumps around very slowly and is generally harmless. It's a good idea to go after more dangerous Boss Salmonids before taking care of the Flipper-Flopper.

Ink the Ring and Break its Armor
You can instantly defeat the Flipper-Flopper by inking the ground within its ring. You don't need to fully ink the ring; covering enough of the area with your ink will instantly fill it just like the goals in Splat Zone.
Successfully inking the ring causes the Flipper-Flopper to crash and break its armor and make it susceptible to inking and splatting!
Use a Special to Splat It
You can instantly splat the Flipper-Flopper with a powerful special such as the Booyah Bomb or the Inkjet.
However, it's a good idea to save these specials for trickier and more powerful Boss Salmonids such as the Steel Eel, Maws, and Flyfish since the Flipper-Flopper is very easy to deal with.
