Servers Were Down Before the Recent Update
Before the release of the recent update, version 1.1.1, servers for Splatoon 3 were temporarily down for maintenance. However, they were brought back up upon the launch of the new update.

When server maintenance is currently ongoing, it is likely because Nintendo needs to perform vital upkeep for Splatoon 3 servers to remain stable. Nintendo usually gives an estimated timeframe for the duration of server maintenance. It is best to be patient and wait for the end of this timeframe.
