Hide behind allies and cover for them. Don't fight alone. Go to higher ground and time your shots.

Difficult handling of the gun makes it better for you to stay behind an ally and shoot ink from there.

Stay behind an ally, preferably a close-ranged weapon wielder, and wait for your teammate to engage first in a fight. Support your team by adding extra firepower and damage to the enemy team.

Better to use when allies are around to divert the enemy team's attention away from you.

Wait for the enemy Inklings to start fighting your team, you can then charge in to get an easy splat or you can sneak up from behind and launch a surprise attack.

Choose your shots and time them correctly as this weapon only has a 3-shot burst.

This weapon will be difficult for you to use up-close. Stay on top of obstacles or away from the line of fire so you can focus on targeting the enemy for a splat.
