Cannonballs Unleash Wave Breakers

The Big Shot is a large Boss Salmonid that fires cannonballs near the Egg Basket. Once the cannonball lands, it will bounce up once and unleash two Wave Breakers that can cover the entire stage!

The large Salmonid itself is harmless and won't attack players even if it's getting inked, but you should still prioritize splatting it to avoid getting wiped out by the Wave Breakers!

Use Launchers to Shoot Golden Eggs

Big Shot's launchers will remain on the stage for the entire Salmon Run, and you can use it to launch Golden Eggs near the basket.

This is very useful in larger stages since you can save time traveling back to the Egg Basket and you can even lure other Boss Salmonids near the launcher for easy Golden Egg collecting. Just make sure another player is ready to pick up and deposit the Golden Eggs near the basket!

How to Beat Big Shot and Strategies

Splat its Body with Ink

To defeat Big Shot, simply splat its body with ink when it emerges from the ocean. It won't fight back even if you attack it and will instead focus on reloading its launcher with cannonballs.

Keep in mind that this Boss Salmonid has above-average health, so it may take several attempts to splat it. If it retreats into the sea, you'll need to wait for it to emerge again to ink it.

Big Shot Stays Near the Shore

The Big Shot always stays near the shore close to where it placed its launcher and will never move deeper into the arena.

Once you see Wave Breakers appear near the Egg Basket, head to the shore and splat the Big Shot!

Use High-Powered Weapons

High-powered weapons can make short work of the Big Shot and minimize the damage it can do to your team with its Wave Breakers.

Good weapons to use against this Boss Salmonid include fully-charged shots from chargers or repeated hits from the Slosher.
