List of Contents
You can play online by visiting the Lobby and locally by visiting The Shoal which can be found in Splatsville beside the lobby. You can easily identify the entrance by the two green arrows above it.
You can also fast travel to these locations by pressing X and selecting them from the menu.
Turf War is a 3-minute 4v4 battle where two teams compete in inking the most turf. Use your best weapons, equip your freshest gear, and splat opponents to emerge victorious!
Anarchy Battles are a competitive ranked game mode that pits players against other players. This replaces Ranked Battles from previous games, but still lets you complete against other players in five minute matches to increase your ranking in the current season.
Salmon Run is a co-op multiplayer mode that was available in Splatoon 2, and has returned in Splatoon 3. Like in Splatoon 2, this will be playable by up to 4 players via online or local wireless.
Salmon Run in Splatoon 3 is described as the “next wave” of the game mode, so expect a more fun and challenging experience this time around.
Splafests are special events in Splatoon where players can pick teams and compete against other players from the opposing teams in special Splatfest Battles. At the end of the event, a winning team is chosen based on different factors determined during the event.
In previous Splatoon games, there was no set duration between Splatfests, but they usually occur around once or twice a month.
To participate in multiplayer activities, you will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription active. Once you subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online membership, you will be able to access Splatoon 3’s online multiplayer features through its main menu.
