How to Get Fish Scales

Obtained from King Salmonid Cohozuna

You can obtain Fish Scales by fighting King Salmonid Cohozuna during Xtrawave. This gigantic Salmonid only appears after filling up the Salmometer, which may require you to do several Salmon Runs to fill up.

How to Spawn King Salmonid Cohozuna

You'll Receive Fish Scales Even After Losing

Losing to King Salmonid Cohozuna still rewards Fish Scales, and will also not count as a failure in the entire Salmon Run. However, you will get fewer Fish Scales if you fail to beat the King Salmonid.

Lower King Salmonid's HP for More Scales

You'll get more Fish Scales at the end of the match the lower you get Cohozuna's HP. Even if you can't defeat the King Salmonid within the time limit, try to get its HP the lowest you can to get as many Fish Scales as possible!

You will receive more Fish Scales by reducing Cohozuna's HP, regardless of stage Hazard Level. You only get Copper Scales if the Hazard Level is low even if you defeat Cohozuna. You can get Silver Scales if the Hazard Level is high even if you can't defeat Cohozuna. Rare Fish Scales always drop at higher Hazard Levels.

Hazard Levels and Rewards

The amount of Fish Scales you'll receive at the end of Xtrawave depends on the current stage's hazard level, as well as King Salmonid's final HP at the end of the wave.

Successfully defeating King Salmonid Cohozuna during Xtrawave will result in the maximum amount of scales, with higher Hazard Levels rewarding rarer fish scales such as Gold and Silver Fish Scales.
