Salmon Run Water Level Mechanics

Stages and Water Levels

Splatoon 3 - Low Tide Stage

All stages in Salmon Run Next Wave have three different water levels of Low Tide, Normal, and High Tide which changes after every wave. All stages start at Normal Tide, with suceeding waves transitioning to either High or Low Tide.

During Low Tide, a sandy shoreline will appear and expand the stage. The Golden Egg Basket also often moves to the shoreline and closer to where the Salmonids spawn.

During High Tide, the outer portions of the stage are submerged and there are places that are easy to fall into the water if you're not careful. This water level makes the Salmon Run very difficult, especially in smaller maps and in higher difficulties when mutliple Boss Salmonids spawn.

A wave effect will appear at the start of the wave indicating the current water levels, with the wave going up or down dependiing if it's High or Low Tide.

Once the 3 Seconds Until the Wave Starts is displayed, then the transition of the tide is complete. Make sure to check the edges of the map, especially during High Tide, to avoid accidentally falling into the sea once the water level rises.
