Splatfest World Premiere Event on August 27

The Splatfest World Premiere event officially ended on August 27, Saturday at 9:00 PM PT in the United States. Players will have to wait for Splatoon 3's official release to play the game.

Demo is No Longer Playable

As the Splatfest World Premiere officially ended on August 27 at 9:00 pm, the demo is no longer available to play. Players who start the demo will be shown a screen showing that that event has ended, and will have to return to the Home screen.

Even though the demo is no longer available for download on the Nintendo eShop, users are still able to pre-order Splatoon 3.

Splatfest Battles

Splatfest Battles are making a return to Splatoon 3 and this time around you can choose between 3 teams!

The theme for the event is Rock, Paper, and Scissors. You need to choose which team you want to fight under, then settle the score in a 4 v 4 Turf War Battle with other players.

Tricolor Turf War

The second half of the Splatfest Battle is the Tricolor Turf War - a 4v2v2 battle between the winning teams in the first half of the Splatfest.

All players on the first-place team will have to defend their turf while 2 players each from the second-place and third-place teams will attack them from opposite ends of the stage.

Which Team Will You Choose?

It isn't a coincidence that the Splatfest World Premiere event will take place on August 27, the same day as World Rock Paper Scissors Day!

During the demo event, you will have the ability to choose between three teams based on the popular game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Which team will you choose for the event?

26 Weapons

Players can also try out 26 different weapons during the demo, including the Splatland-specific weapon type - Stringers!

Check out the Tri-Stringer and its explosive arrows to see if it matches your playstyle. If it doesn't, you can always rely on the classics like the Splattershot and Splat Roller to lead your team to victory!

All New and Returning Main Weapons

Test Range

The Test Range will also be available in the demo. Here you can train and test out different kinds of weapons to get yourself all geared up for the ink-oming battles!

Want to warm up before a battle? The test range is also accessible as you wait for the game to find you a match!

Nintendo Switch Online 7-Day Trial

The demo also comes with a free 7-day trial for Nintendo Switch Online if you're still not subscribed. You will be given a code that you can redeem from August 25 to August 31, 2022.

If you're already subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, you won't be prompted to get the 7-day free trial anymore.

Is Nintendo Switch Online Required?

As mentioned above, a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription is required to play the demo of the game. However, upon downloading the demo, you will be given a code for a free 7-day trial version of Nintendo Switch Online, which you can redeem from August 25 to 31, 2022, and use to play the demo.
