Equipping the Thermal Defense pup gear gives Oatchi immunity from ice damage. It also prevents him from getting frozen!

Take Ice Damage

Pikmin 4 - Take Ice Damage

Raw Material Cost 100

You can unlock the Thermal Defense (Oatchi) before the sparklium requirement if you, Oatchi, or your Pikmin take any ice damage. This can be from ice walls or enemies like the Icy Blowhog.

Once it's unlocked, you can purchase it from Russ at the Lab for 100 Raw Materials.
