Pokemon Sleep's 2024 New Year Event is now over! Starter Pokemon were more likely to appear during sleep research for this event, and there were also bonuses to EXP and Sleep Points. Read on for more information about the bonuses, bundles, and featured Pokemon for this New Year event!

All Pokemon Sleep Events begin and end at 4 AM Local Time for All Time Zones.
Pokemon Sleep celebrated the arrival of 2024 with this New Year Event from January 1, 2024 until January 8, 2024 at 3:59 AM local time. All research area islands were affected by the bonuses of this event week, but the featured Pokemon only appeared in their usual habitats.

During this New Year event, Pokemon EXP gained during sleep sessions was multiplied by 1.5 times! This can stack with the Sleep EXP Bonus Sub Skill and the Growth Incense item for even more EXP.
There were also bonus Sleep Points given every day (only for the first sleep session if you do two). On the first and last days of the event, 512 bonus Sleep Points were given out. Other event days give 200 bonus Sleep Points. If you track your sleep every day, you can ear a total of 2024 Sleep Points—a great way to start the year!
In addition to these bonuses, Pokemon of all sleep types were available during sleep research after sleep sessions, as if you have a Balanced Sleep Type for every sleep session. Specific Pokemon were also more likely to appear during sleep research.

Three New Year 2024 Bundles are available at the General Store from December 31, 2023 until January 9, 2024.
These bundles are a bit pricier compared to other event bundles. However, they do contain a lot of items that are hard to come by.
The large bundle includes a Main Skill Seed, Sub Skill Seed, and Handy Candy L, all normally requiring a Premium Pass. It also includes Pokemon Incenses that are usually rewarded for reaching certain Snorlax Ratings for weekly missions.
There has unfortunately been no mention of boosted Shiny odds for this event. While having Shiny Pokemon for a New Year event seems appropriate, the Holiday 2023 Event already boosted the Shiny rate for all Pokemon during that event week.
Because of how close the New Year event is to the Holiday event and the fact that Shiny appearance rate was not mentioned in the event announcement, there will likely be no boosted Shiny odds during the New Year 2024 event.

All of the Pokemon Sleep starter Pokemon as well as Snover and Abomasnow have an increased encounter rate during this event but only for the research areas they reside in.
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu are all available on Greengrass Isle at Basic Snorlax ratings, so these Pokemon can be easily found even if you're only starting out. Charmander can also be found in Taupe Hollow, while Squirtle and Pikachu can be found in Cyan Beach.
Snover and Abomasnow are no longer available on Greengrass Isle since the Christmas event has ended, however. They can now only be found in Snowdrop Tundra.
If you're aiming to befriend as many of the featured Pokemon as possible, Greengrass Ise is the place to go. Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu are all available in this research area at a Basic Snorlax Rating.
This research area is also accessible to all players, regardless of how many hours you've played Pokemon Sleep.

If you missed out on Snover and Abomasnow during the Holiday 2023 event, you may want to visit Snowdrop Tundra. Snover is immediately available at a Basic 1 Snorlax Rating. However, Abomasnow make take some time to get to as it only appears starting from Ultra 2.
Snowdrop Tundra can be unlocked once you've registered 150 Sleep Styles in your Sleep Style Dex.

There aren't really any other special, stand-out benefits to a specific research area for this event. If you're not interested in getting any of the featured Pokemon, it's best to just choose whichever island you want to spend the new year in.
