Version 1.7.2 of Pokemon Sleep has been released! This update adds in the Entei Research event, gives bonuses to new players, and adjusts helping stats of certain Pokemon. Read on to learn about Version 1.7.2 and its patch notes.
Version 1.7.2 Release Date
May 14, 2024
Version 1.7.2 of Pokemon Sleep has been made available on May 14 after the app maintenance. This update comes two weeks after the Version 1.6.0 update, which was the last update for both iOS and Android users.
Version 1.7.0 and Version 1.7.1
Version 1.7.0 and Version 1.7.1 were both released on May 8 for Android users only. No patch notes were announced for Version 1.7.0, so it's unclear which bugs this update fixed. However, Version 1.7.0 made Pokemon Sleep unplayable for those who downloaded this update.
Version 1.7.1 was released shortly after Version 1.7.0 in order to fix the bug that prevented players from playing the game. If you're an Android user having issues with opening your Pokemon Sleep app, make sure to update to Version 1.7.1.
Both of these updates are not available to iOS users. For Android users who are still on Version 1.6.0, you can continue using this version safely without updating to Version 1.7.1. Version 1.7.2 will be available to both iOS and Android users when it comes out.

| ・ Changes to the conditions for when the Sleep EXP Bonus Gauge applies ┗ Before change: During sleep research, applied when any helper Pokemon on the team reached the current max level of 55, regardless of the user’s research rank. ┗ After change: During sleep research, will apply when any helper Pokemon on the team has reached the max level possible for the user’s research rank at the time. ・ Added new perks to the Novice Researcher Bonus ┗ One additional hungry Pokemon ┗ If all of a user’s area bonuses add up to less than 100%, then the researcher’s area bonus will increase by 10% each week |
Sleep EXP Gauge
The Sleep EXP gauge serves as a substitute for the Pokemon EXP gauge once a Pokemon has reached the current maximum level. Filling up the gauge rewards you with a Handy Candy S.
After the Version 1.7.2 update, the maximum level being considered by this gauge will be the maximum level a Pokemon can reach based on your personal research rank. A high research rank allows your Pokemon to reach the game's maximum level cap of 55, but a low research rank lowers the Pokemon level cap. The game will tell you if you've reached your current limit.

Novice Researcher Bonus
The Novice Researcher Bonus applies to new players in their first week of playing Pokemon Sleep. However, the new feature of increasing area bonuses by 10% instead of 5% if the total bonus for all areas are less than 100% can be applied to all players that meet this condition.

Even more Skills Specialty Pokemon are getting buffed in the Version 1.7.2 update! Persian and Lucario, both with the Dream Shard Magnet S skill, are getting shorter frequency stats, allowing them to help more often.
Golduck getting a boost to its ingredient finding and its carry limit allows it to become a more reliable Pokemon when it comes to getting ingredients. Wobbuffet's slight Main Skill chance buff still won't make it a better healer than a Pokemon like Wigglytuff, but it does become more viable for those who want to use it.

Starting from Version 1.7.2, you will be able to do regular sleep research when only having two sleep sessions recorded on your Pokemon GO Plus+ device. You'll get to see all the Pokemon gathered around Snorlax and be able to feed them Biscuits yourself.
Recording three or more sessions will still generate only one sleep session's sleep research and one report containing the rest of the Pokemon you encountered.
