The Raikou Research Event is now over! It was held for two weeks, from March 25, 2024 at 4:00 AM local time to April 8, 2024 at 3:59 AM local time on Greengrass Isle.
This Raikou Research Event introduces the first Legendary Pokemon to be added in Pokemon Sleep: Raikou! Raikou comes will a brand new exclusive main skill called Helper Boost (Electric), which will be exceptionally good when combined with the bonuses of this event.
Raikou began appearing on Greengrass Isle at 3 PM local time on March 25.
All first befriended Raikou are the same for all players, including its Nature and sub skills. Any subsequent Raikou you befriend will then be randomized.

Item | Quantity | Expiry |
---|---|---|
Raikou Incense | x1 | April 08, 2024 |
Raikou Biscuit | x1 | April 08, 2024 |
The Pokémon Sleep team has found an issue when players use Raikou Incense where only the 1-star Sleep Style would appear, regardless of the player's Rank and Drowsy Power.
The issue has been fixed, and a balance update has been applied which makes it easier for all players to encounter Raikou's other Sleep Styles.
As compensation, Pokémon Sleep has given out one Raikou Incense and one Raikou Biscuit to all players on March 28, 2024.
Additionally, a Special Campaign will be held over the weekend where a Drowsy Power bonus of x1.5 will be applied to Sleep Score.
This campaign will begin on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 4:00 AM and end on Monday, April 1, at 3:59 AM.
Raikou Incense and Biscuit Gift + Weekend 1.5x Drowsy Power Event
Electric Type Week was held from March 11 to 18 in order to prepare for the Raikou Research Event. The Electric Type Week event increases the encounter chance of Electric-type Pokemon, which will be more effective helpers during the Raikou Research Event.

The Raikou Research Event is only available to players who choose Greengrass Isle as their research area for the week.
Normally the favorite Berries of the Greengrass Isle Snorlax is random, but during this event week, the Snorlax on this island is guaranteed to have the Grepa Berry as one of its favorite Berries.

If you accidentally select a different research area during the Raikou Research Event, you can change your research area by using an E-Zzz Travel Ticket.
You can buy one per month at the Regular Exchange for a mere 100 Sleep Points. If you need another, you can buy it from the General Store.
Greengrass Isle Map and Area Dex
At the beginning of the second week of the Raikou Research Event, Professor Neroli will point out that the Snorlax you find on Greengrass Isle looks bigger.
The Snorlax for this week is actually promoted to Ultra 4 automatically, with a Snorlax Strength of 125,032! This makes it a lot easier for players to get a higher Drowsy Power for this week and potentially encounter Raikou's 2- and 3-star Sleep Styles.
Raikou Mane Collection Methods |
---|
|
Unlike other Pokemon debuts, Raikou requires a bit more effort to obtain. It can appear naturally in Greengrass Isle, but it's very rare and will likely require a high Master Snorlax Rating.
During this event, it will be much easier to find Raikou by using Raikou Incense. You can get Raikou Incense by collecting Raikou Mane and exchanging the required amount for Raikou Incense at the Event Exchange.
Raikou Mane can be obtained through event missions, sleep research, research community friends, and event bundles. Finding Electric-type Pokemon after your sleep session yields more Raikou Mane.
During the Raikou Research Event, Electric-type Pokemon will pick up one extra ingredient whenever it finds one on the field. This helps make up for the fact that there are no Ingredients Specialty Electric Pokemon. This bonus allows you to comfortably have only Electric types for the duration of the event.
Electric-type Pokemon will also have an increased chance for their main skill to trigger at 1.5x the normal rate.

There are two sets of missions during the Raikou Research Event, one for each week. Raikou Mane of varying amounts is the only reward for the missions during this event.
You can complete week 1 missions from March 25, 4:00 AM to April 1, 3:59 AM. Any unclaimed rewards can still be claimed the following week.

General Store Purchase Guide: Best Items to Buy
To help start off your Raikou research, a special gift containing one Raikou Biscuit is now available! Just check your Gift Box in order to claim it.
The Raikou event announcement mentioned that 50 samples of Raikou Mane will be given out during the first day of the event on March 25 as well as on the beginning of the second week of the event on April 1. These gifts will only be added to the Gift Box of players who log on before April 10.
However, there is currently no sign of the March 25 Raikou Mane gift. It is unclear if the distribution of this gift has been delayed or if the Raikou Biscuit gift that was given is meant to replace it.

A special event store called the Event Exchange is open only for the Raikou Research Event. The currency used in this Event Exchange is Raikou Mane which can be obtained during the event through missions, sleep research, and bundles.
All of the Raikou items in the Event Exchange have a cheaper version with a very limited stock and a more expensive version with more stock yet still limited. This prevents players from befriending too many of the powerful Raikou within the first week.
Additional Raikou Incense and Raikou Biscuits are added to the Event Exchange during the second week of the event, at lower prices.
Raikou Incense cannot be purchased if you already have one in your bag. You can only have a maximum of one Raikou Incense in your inventory at a time. Placing the Incense on a stump still counts as having it in your inventory until it is consumed after a completed sleep session.
Raikou Biscuits will only be usable during the Raikou Research Event. Once the event is over, any Raikou Biscuits you have in your inventory will turn into Great Biscuits.
Raikou Biscuit Effect and How to Get
The event exchange opens as the event starts on March 25. Once the Raikou Research Event ends, you still have three days to spend any leftover Raikou Mane you have until the Event Exchange closes on April 11, 2024 at 3:59 AM local time.

Electric-type Pokemon will be more effective during the Raikou Research Event. They will all also have an increased encounter rate during this event.
Catch and level up these Pokemon before and during the event in order to help you get a lot of Raikou Mane during the research event! Take note that you can only have up to one Raikou in your team at a time, though you can have multiple in your Box.
Raichu, Ampharos, and Raikou are the strongest Electric-type Pokemon in the game, so they are some of the best to use throughout the whole event. If you have these Pokemon, try your best to incorporate them into your teams.
Entei and Suicune will also be added into Pokemon Sleep in the future. No date has been announced yet, but it's likely that they will be added in the following months.
Their introductions will most likely follow the format of the Raikou Research Event.
