Pokemon Sleep

Good-Night Ribbon Effect

Pokemon Sleep - Good Night Ribbon

A Good-Night Ribbon that raises the stats of helper Pokemon's stats depending on the sleeping time shared was added to Pokemon Sleep during the August 1 update. Read on to learn more about Good-Night Ribbons, Good-Night Ribbon effects, the best Pokemon to have the ribbon, and how to get it.

Good-Night Ribbon Effects

Good-Night Ribbon Effects per Level

Ribbon Level Requirements and Effect
Good-Night Ribbon Level 1 Level 1 Requires 200 sleep hours shared
・Carry Limit +1
Good-Night Ribbon Level 2 Level 2 Requires 500 sleep hours shared
・Carry Limit +2
・If the Pokemon can still evolve once, its helping frequency is shortened by 5%
・If the Pokemon can still evolve twice, its helping frequency is shortened by 11%
Good-Night Ribbon Level 3 Level 3 Requires 1000 sleep hours shared
・Carry Limit +3
・Special profile icon of the helper Pokemon
Good-Night Ribbon Level 4 Level 4 Requires 2000 sleep hours shared
・Carry Limit +2
・If the Pokemon can still evolve once, its helping frequency is shortened by an additional 7%
・If the Pokemon can still evolve twice, its helping frequency is shortened by an additional 14%

Effects are Stacked

Upon reaching a higher level of Ribbon Level, the new effects will be added to previous effects, instead of replacing them.

This means that upon reaching a Level 4 Good-Night Ribbon, your helper Pokemon will receive a +8 Carry Limit, on top of the helping frequency reduction, and special profile icon!

Special Icons for Pokemon with a Good-Night Ribbon

1000 Sleep Hours Required for Icons

Good-Night Ribbon Special Icons

Once you reach at least 1000 hours of sleep with a helper Pokemon, a new section will appear at the bottom of the profile icons. This is where you can find special icons of your Pokemon with a level 3 or higher Good-Night Ribbon.

If you have a Pokemon with 1000 hours of sleep that isn't appearing here, make sure to open up their page from the Pokemon Box in order for them to receive the ribbon.

Shiny Pokemon Have Their Own Icons

Good-Night Ribbon Shiny Delibird Icon

Shiny Pokemon have separate Good-Night Ribbon icons, which means if your specific helper Pokemon with a level 3 Good-Night Ribbon is Shiny, you'll receive only the special Shiny icon and not the regular-colored icon.

How to Get Good-Night Ribbon

View Pokemon After Reaching 200 Hours of Sleep Time

Good-Night Ribbon 200 Sleep Hours Shared.png
The Good-Night Ribbon will be awarded to a Pokemon after reaching at least 200 hours of shared sleeping time with that helper Pokemon. In order to accept the ribbon, you must tap the Pokemon from the Pokemon Box.

A pop-up should appear to notify you that the Pokemon has been awarded a ribbon. This occurs every time you reach a new ribbon level, so make sure to check your Pokemon's page once you reach a new sleep time threshold.

Available in the Version 1.10.0 Update

The Good-Night Ribbon was added into the game in the Version 1.10.0 update on August 1. Pokemon with sleep times that have qualified for a Good-Night Ribbon prior to its addition will be automatically rewarded with the ribbon once you tap on the Pokemon from the Box.

Version 1.10.0 Update and Patch Notes

Found on Pokemon's Individual Page

Upon being rewarded with a Good-Night Ribbon, you should be able to find this ribbon displayed on the upper right part your Pokemon's information page when you tap on it from the Pokemon Box. The ribbon can be found between the favorite and specialty icons.

Best Pokemon for the Good-Night Ribbon

Onix with a Level 2 or 4 Good-Night Ribbon

Frequency Comparison Pokemon Sleep - OnixOnix Pokemon Sleep - SteelixSteelix
Base 00:51:40 00:50::00
Level 2 Ribbon 00:49:05 00:50::00
Level 4 Ribbon 00:45:28 00:50::00

Generally, the Good-Night Ribbon bonuses don't really make up for the boons of the final evolved form of Pokemon. The only Pokemon that can outspeed its final evolved form if given a Good-Night Ribbon is Onix.

This isn't counting Vigoroth, whose base frequency is already faster than the evolved Slaking. This makes Onix the best unevolved Pokemon to make use of the Good-Night Ribbon's level 2 and 4 frequency bonuses.

Make Vigoroth Even Faster

Base Frequency Comparison
Pokemon Sleep - VigorothVigoroth
Base Frequency:
53 mins 20 secs
Pokemon Sleep - SlakingSlaking
Base Frequency:
1 hr 3 mins 20 secs

Vigoroth is the only unevolved Pokemon that is faster than the final evolved form. Giving it a Good-Night Ribbon can make it even better than it already is, increasing its carry limit (the stat Slaking has the upper hand in) and further improving its faster helping speed.

Better First-Stage Evolutions

Frequency Comparison Base Level 2 Ribbon Level 4 Ribbon
Pokemon Sleep - CharmanderCharmander 00:58:20 00:51:55 00:43:45
Pokemon Sleep - CharmeleonCharmeleon 00:50:00 00:47:30 00:44:00
Pokemon Sleep - CaterpieCaterpie 01:13:20 01:06:16 00:55:00
Pokemon Sleep - MetapodMetapod 01:10:00 01:06:30 01:01:36

Charmander and Cyndaquil have the same frequency stat. The same goes for Charmeleon and Quilava.

Although these Pokemon cannot outspeed their final evolved forms, Charmander and Caterpie can outspeed their second evolution forms with the Good-Night Ribbon bonuses.

However, considering the amount of time it takes to get a level 2 and level 4 bonus, and the fact the frequency increase is so small, it may still be worthwhile to just evolve these Pokemon to their final forms when possible.
