Pokemon Sleep - What is Pokemon Sleep?
Pokemon Sleep is a game and sleep tracking app that allows you to play while sleeping. Learn more about Pokemon Sleep gameplay, how Pokemon Sleep works, and how it can help you sleep better.

What is Pokemon Sleep?

Health App for Sleep Tracking

Pokemon Sleep - Sleep Tracker
The main focus of Pokemon Sleep is to help you develop good sleeping habits. It tracks how much sleep you've gotten, if you tend to wake up in the middle of the night, and other information regarding your sleep quality. It records your sleep data then grades it to assign you a Sleep Type.

Pokemon Sleep also has a lot of useful features such as Pokemon-themed music and smart alarms to help you both fall asleep and wake up in the optimal part of your sleep cycle.

Spinoff Pokemon Game

Despite it being a health-related app for sleep tracking, Pokemon Sleep is still a spinoff Pokemon game. You have a Pokemon Professor, Professor Neroli, doing research on the island where Pokemon Sleep is set. The game also includes Pokemon collecting mechanics similar to many other Pokemon games.

Complete Your Sleep Style Dex

Pokemon Sleep - Pikachu Droopy Eared Sleep Style
You can collect Pokemon Sleep Styles which are associated to specific Pokemon and add them to your Sleep Style Dex—similar to the Pokedex of traditional Pokemon games.

The type of Pokemon who gather on the island will depend on your Sleep Type, but each Pokemon will also have different Sleep Styles they can have.

How Does Pokemon Sleep Work?

Place Your Device Near Your Pillow on the Bed

Pokemon Sleep - Device Placement

Have your device with your Pokemon Sleep app nearby. It can be on your pillow or beside it on the bed. It's not recommended to place it on hard surfaces like your nightstand or the floor. This may prevent the app from tracking your sleep properly. Make sure your device isn't under your pillow or under your blankets so that it doesn't overheat.

Keep your phone plugged in and charging, so that it won't suddenly run out of battery while you're sleeping. Leave your screen on but put it face-down. Most screens will darken automatically when placed this way, so you don't have to worry about it using too much energy.

Get Your Sleep Type

Go to sleep with your phone nearby, so that it can track how you sleep. Upon waking up, the game will give you a score based on your sleep duration and sleep consistency.

Sleeping longer gives you a higher score, while sleeping for a short period of time can give you a lower score. You will then be classified into one of four types: Dozing, Snoozing, Slumbering, or Balanced. The Pokemon that will gather in your app is affected by your Sleep Type.

Fill Your Sleep Style Dex

Pokemon Sleep - Sleep Styles
Different Pokemon will gather around the Snorlax in your Pokemon Sleep island when you wake up. These Pokemon will all be sleeping in different Sleep Styles. Use Pokemon Sleep every night so that you can find all the different kinds of Sleep Styles to fill in your Sleep Style Dex.

Feed Snorlax During the Day

Pokemon Sleep - Snorlax

You can still use Pokemon Sleep even when you're not sleeping. Some of the Pokemon that have gathered in your island can be befriended. These Pokemon can then collect berries that you can give to the large Snorlax in the middle of your Pokemon Sleep island. This will build its Drowsy Power.

Higher Drowsy Power increases the number of Pokemon that gather around Snorlax after you sleep. This allows you to find more Pokemon and increases your chances of encountering a Sleep Style you've never seen before.

You can use Pokemon Sleep with any smartphone running either Android or iOS. Just download the Pokemon Sleep app from either Google Play or the App Store.

Pokemon Go Plus+

Pokemon Sleep is also compatible with the Pokemon Go Plus+ device. This is a good alternative if you don't want to have your smartphone too close to your head while you sleep.

You'll still need to have the app downloaded onto your smartphone. Once you've paired the Pokemon Go Plus+ to your Pokemon Sleep app, all you need to do to is press and hold the main button for it to track your sleep.
