The next update for Pokemon Sleep is expected to arrive on August 27, 2024 and will update the version of Unity used for the app. Players are recommended to link accounts or generate a Transfer Code beforehand. Read on for more information about this Unity update and what to do to prepare for it.
The Unity update for Pokemon Sleep is expected to be available on August 27, 2024 at around 5:00 AM UTC. Though it hasn't been announced, it's possible that app maintenance will occur before this update is released.
Since this update will update the game engine, there's a chance you may get logged out. In order to make sure that you can log back into your Pokemon Sleep account, it's highly recommended to either link a Google or Apple account to your game or generate and write down a Transfer Code.
In order to link an account to your game, go to Settings and tap on Link Accounts. Sign into the account you want to link among the available options.
Take note that linking accounts is only available to users 16 years old and above.
Those who are below 16 years old and those who don't have any accounts to link can instead take note of their Support ID and Transfer Code.
Your Support ID can be found on the upper right corner on the opening screen, underneath the version number, when starting up the app, but it will also be shown when generating a Transfer Code.
A Transfer Code can be generated by going to Link Accounts under Settings and selecting Issue a Transfer Code. Write down or take a screenshot of both your Support ID and Transfer Code before the update is made available on August 27.
How to Link and Back Up Accounts
The only confirmed change for this version is an update to the Unity engine used in the game, but this makes it a large and significant update. 600MB of data will have to be redownloaded for both iOS and Android devices when booting up the game, which means that it may take some time before you can get into the game.
Make sure you have a stable internet connection before downloading this version update as well as the data on start-up.
