To celebrate the first anniversary of Pokemon Sleep, a two-week event is being held from July 15, 2024 to July 29, 2024 called the First Anniversary Fest! The two weeks will have different bonuses between them, but the Dream Gift, Research EXP bonus, all sleep types during sleep research, and daily news announcements will be shared by both anniversary event weeks.
The first set of Pokemon from Generation 9 are being added to Pokemon Sleep on the first day of the First Anniversary Fest! Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and their evolutions should be available in the game on July 15, 3 PM local time.
Paldea Starters Coming to Pokemon Sleep on July 15
Right before the main anniversary event is a lead-up event called the 1st Anniversary Lead-Up Gift Week where 150 bonus sleep points are distributed as gifts every day.
1st Anniversary Lead-Up Gift Week
The Good Sleep Day event will occur during the peak of the First Anniversary Fest. From July 20 to 22, we can excpect additional bonuses to Drowsy Power, EXP gained from sleeping, and sleep points.
Pokemon Sleep had a slow roll-out when it was first released in July 2023, spanning multiple days and the release depending on the country you resided in. However, the game became fully available worldwide on July 20, 2023, marking this as the worldwide anniversary date for Pokemon Sleep.
We might be able to expect big news on Saturday, July 20, during the anniversary event this year, since it is the official anniversary date.

Bonuses for Both Weeks 1 and 2 |
---|
|
During the First Anniversary Fest, a limited-time Dream Gift will appear beside Snorlax every day. 14 items can be obtained by opening these gifts daily, but the order you get them in is random.
Make sure to log in and open this gift every day to make sure you don't miss out on anything valuable such as Pokemon Incense for the Paldea starters, Type Candies, and Diamonds.
Research EXP contributes to your own personal Research Rank. If you happen to already be at the max level of 55, Research EXP will be converted into Dream Shards.
Pokemon of all three sleep types can appear during sleep research throughout the whole anniversary event. It will be as if you obtain a Balanced Sleep Type for every sleep session.
All Sleep Types and How to Get Each One
Although many players may have wanted increased Shiny odds to hunt the new Paldean starter Pokemon, there will be no changes to the Shiny rate during the First Anniversary Fest.

Every day for two weeks, starting from July 14 at 10 PM UTC, news will be announced on Pokemon Sleep's official website and the app's in-game news. You can also check out all of the announcements made on our page here:
Daily Anniversary News Announcements
The first week of the First Anniversary Fest is all about befriending Pokemon. During this week, one Pokemon is guaranteed to be hungry when you conduct your first sleep research of the day.
Hungry Pokemon receive 3x the value of the first Biscuit you feed them. One rare occasions, they can also just be automatically befriended.
All Pokemon will have their main skill trigger rate increased by 1.5x during the first week of the First Anniversary Fest, so this is a good time to use Pokemon with strong skills such as Ingredient Magnet S, Cooking Power-Up S, Charge Strength M, and Enegy for Everyone S, or the Legendary Pokemon Raikou and Entei.

Week 2 Bonuses |
---|
|
Pokemon Candies are rewarded for each Sleep Style researched after a sleep session. During the First Anniversary Fest week 2, the amount of candy you'll receive from each Pokemon you research will be multiplied by 1.5x.
This bonus will only apply to the first sleep research you conduct per day if you do two sleep sessions.
Event Date | Strength Bonus | Extra Tasty Bonus |
---|---|---|
July 22 - 27 | x1.5 | x3 |
July 28 (last day) |
x1.5 | x4.5 |
All dishes made during this event week have a 1.5x Strength boost. Extra Tasty dishes, which are normally around double (2x) the expected dish Strength, instead have triple (3x) the original dish Strength during this event.
On Sunday, July 27, this Extra Tasty bonus goes up to 4.5x. Combined with the doubled pot capacity and increased Extra Tasty chance on Sundays, you can make an exceptionally strong dish that may allow you to jump through multiple Snorlax Ratings all at once.
It may be worth adding Dedenne or Cramorant to your team to make the most of this boosted Extra Tasty bonus with their Tasty Chance S main skill.
The Candy Boost function allows you to quickly increase your Pokemon's EXP through candies in exchange for consuming more Dream Shards.
The Mini Candy Boost, which is what will be available during the First Anniversary Fest, allows you to use less Dream Shards but limits the daily use of this function at 50 candies per day.

During the first week of the event, only the base forms of the Paldea starter Pokemon will have an increased encounter chance, and this bonus only applies on Greengrass Isle.

For the second week of the event, you can choose whichever research area you want for the week. Unfortunately, no island has all nine of the new Pokemon. However, Greengrass Isle does have representatives for each line.
If you've already managed to get Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly during the first week of the event, choose whichever island you can quickly raise your Snorlax Strength in to help you find rare Sleep Styles for the evolved Pokemon.
