Pokemon Sleep is an app that you only really need to use when you go to sleep and wake up. However, there are activities you can do while awake during the day.
Your Helper Pokemon will be gathering Berries and ingredients throughout the day. You can tap on them whenever they have a magnifying glass icon on top of their heads in order to get the items they have gathered.
All of your Pokemon should have items gathered after every two hours, so this is a good time to check. Although, since Pokemon Sleep is not your traditional game, you may not want to spend most of your waking hours on this app.
Checking every two hours is recommended for those who want to gather a lot of ingredients.
It is recommended to feed Snorlax three meals a day in order to raise its Snorlax Strength as much as possible before your nightly Sleep Session.
Before cooking a meal for Snorlax, check on all of the Pokemon you have out on the field for ingredients you can add to the meal. You might also be able to trigger a useful meal-related Skill such as Cooking Power-Up or Ingredient Magnet.
List of All Main Skills and Effects
Meal | Hours |
---|---|
Breakfast | 4:00am - 11:59am |
Lunch | 12:00pm - 5:59pm |
Dinner | 6:00pm - 3:59am |
This table has been adjusted to reflect the meal schedule changes introduced in Version 1.5.0.
Make sure to gather up all the items your Pokemon are carrying before you start your Sleep Session, so that your Pokemon can have their hands full with new Berries and ingredients when you wake up.
Frequency of Help is a Helping Stat that all of your Pokemon have in Pokemon Sleep. This determines how often your Pokemon will be gathering Berries and ingredients.
This is a good baseline for when you should be checking your Pokemon for items. Figuring out the average Frequency of Help for all the Pokemon on your Helper Team can also allow you to optimize your checking time.
Each Pokemon has a specialty in either Berries, ingredients, or Skills. This affects how often they can get or activate whatever they specialize in.
Pokemon with the Berries Specialty gather Berries more often than what is stated in their Frequency stat. The same goes for Pokemon with the Ingredients Specialty, only for ingredients instead of Berries.
Pokemon with the Skills Specialty have a greater chance of activating their Main Skill when they are tapped on.
Most Natures give one positive and one negative effect to a Pokemon. It can affect a Pokemon's Main skill chance, Speed of help, Ingredient finding, Energy recovery, and EXP gains. However, there are some Natures that have no effect at all.
Each individual Pokemon has their own Nature. Even if you have two Pokemon of the same species and gender, they may have different Natures. You can check the Additional Stats in your Pokemon's page for information about their Nature.

You may notice that your tired-looking Pokemon aren't performing up to their usual standard. Tired Pokemon will have reduced effectiveness of help, which means they may find less Berries and ingredients than they normally would.
You can regain the energy of your Pokemon in your active Helper Team by going to sleep. You can also use an Energy Pillow to increase the energy of one of your Pokemon.
Actively tapping on your Pokemon is the only way to get any ingredients they have gathered or trigger their Main Skills. If you want to make the most of Pokemon Sleep and level up your Snorlax Rating fast, it's a good idea to check on your Pokemon every now and then.
Your Snorlax Rating determines how many Pokemon species you can find for that week. If you've been getting the same old Pokemon after every Sleep Session, your Snorlax Rating probably hasn't been going up.
As much as possible, feed Snorlax his three meals a day. Check on your Pokemon to get ingredients for those meals, and you might notice an improvement during your next Sleep Session.
