Fire Type Week in Preparation for the Entei Research Event

Pokemon Sleep - Entei Research Event

The Fire Type Week event will be very helpful in preparing for the Entei Research Event towards the end of May. During Entei Research, Fire-type Pokemon will be more effective helpers.

If you don't have a lot of Fire types in your box, use the Fire Type Week Event to build your Fire helper team. You can also focus on gathering Pokemon Candy for your Fire-type Pokemon and level them up quickly with help from the Mini Candy Boost function.

Pokemon Sleep Fire Type Week Event Bonuses and Missions

Guaranteed Hungry Pokemon

Pokemon Sleep - Hungry Pokemon

During the Fire Type Week Event, there will always be at least one hungry Pokemon during snack time after your first sleep session of the day. Hungry Pokemon are guaranteed to get either a Big Hit (x3 Biscuit effect) or a Mega Hit (automatic max Friendship) when given a Biscuit, allowing you to more easily befriend them.

Take note that this guaranteed hungry Pokemon is separate from the guaranteed hungry Pokemon you get from Friend Incense or from the Good Camp Set.

Mini Candy Boost Function

Pokemon Sleep - Candy Boost Wigglytuff

The Candy Boost function from the Holiday 2023 Event makes a return, but in a more limited form as the Mini Candy Boost function during Fire Type Week, similar to how it worked during Electric Type Week.

Regular and Mini Candy Boost Comparison

Candy Boost Function Dream Shards Used EXP Gained from Candy Limit
Regular x6 x2 Unlimited
Mini x4 x2 50 Candies per day

The Mini Candy Boost function still doubles EXP gains from Candy while using only 4 times more Dream Shards (compared to the regular Candy Boost's 6), but you can only use up to 50 Candies per day. This makes the feature more accessible to newer players with less Dream Shards while preventing players with more Dream Shards from overleveling their Pokemon.

Take note that this feature is automatically turned on during the event. However, you can manually toggle it off on the level up screen. Also take note that both Candy Boost versions are affected by EXP Natures.

Recommended to Use on Fire Types

During the Fire Type Week event, it's recommended to use the Mini Candy Boost function to level up your Fire-type Pokemon and make a strong team for the Entei Research event.

There are special limited-time event missions during the Fire Type Week Event that will be available alongside the regular weekly missions. All missions remain the same regardless of which island you choose for the week.

One reward that you can easily get for getting Snorlax to Basic 2 is Vulpix Incense, which allows you to automatically encounter Vulpix after a sleep session. This event also marks the first time that Fire-Type Candy S can be obtained, either through these missions or the Fire Type Week Bundles. Fire-Type Candy S can be used on a Fire-type Pokemon in order to get 4 of its Candies.

All Fire-type Pokemon will have a greater appearance rate during Fire Type Week. You can expect to encounter these Pokemon more frequently when you stay in one of their habitat islands.

Since Pokemon of various sleep types appear during sleep research for this event, you don't have to worry about aiming for the Snoozing Sleep Type when you start a sleep session. It will be as if you get a Balanced Sleep Type during sessions in terms of the types of Pokemon you encounter.

Best Island for Fire Type Week

Taupe Hollow for All Fire Type Pokemon

Pokemon Sleep - Taupe Hollow Snorlax.png

The best research area for the Fire-Type Week event is Taupe Hollow. It contains all of the Fire-type Pokemon available in the game, including the new Pokemon, Vulpix and Ninetales, and the previously unavailable Arcanine, Quilava, and Typhlosion

Taupe Hollow gives you the best opportunities to gather Candies for your Fire types and get them ready for the Entei Research event.

Taupe Hollow Area Dex and How to Unlock

Greengrass Isle for Beginners

Pokemon Sleep - Obtaining Ingredients

Greengrass Isle is another good island option for those who have only recently started playing Pokemon Sleep and do not have Taupe Hollow unlocked yet.

This island contains all of the Fire-type Pokemon except for Arcanine, which still gives players a good selection of Fire types. Take note that you can find less Sleep Styles here per Pokemon compared to Taupe Hollow, so if you do have access to Taupe Hollow, it is recommended to go there instead.

Greengrass Isle Map and Area Dex

Do Not Go to Snowdrop Tundra or Lapis Lakeside

Since there are no Fire-type Pokemon available in Snowdrop Tundra nor Lapis Lakeside, it is not recommended to go to these islands during this event week. Only go to one of these islands if you absolutely do not want to see any Fire-type Pokemon.
