Unevolved Pokemon are those that are still able to evolve in Pokemon Sleep by using candies after meeting certain conditions. Read on for a list of all unevolved Pokemon in the game, the best unevolved Pokemon to have, and information on how to evolve unevolved Pokemon.
List of Contents
Frequency Comparison | Onix | Steelix |
---|---|---|
Base | 00:51:40 | 00:50::00 |
Level 2 Ribbon | 00:49:05 | 00:50::00 |
Level 4 Ribbon | 00:45:28 | 00:50::00 |
The only Pokemon that can outspeed its final evolved form if given a Good-Night Ribbon is Onix. This isn't counting Vigoroth, whose base frequency is already faster than the evolved Slaking.
This makes Onix the best unevolved Pokemon to make use of the Good-Night Ribbon's level 2 and 4 frequency bonuses.
Base Frequency Comparison | |
---|---|
Vigoroth
Base Frequency: 53 mins 20 secs |
Slaking
Base Frequency: 1 hr 3 mins 20 secs |
Despite not being fully evolved, Vigoroth is significantly faster than Slaking. This may be because Vigoroth is an energetic Pokemon by nature, wheras Slaking is well-known for, well, slacking off.
Because of this, having Vigoroth over Slaking is generally preferred unless you need Slaking's increased base carry limit.
Best Unevolved Water Types | ||
---|---|---|
Wartortle
Base Frequency: 56 mins 40 secs |
Croconaw
Base Frequency: 56 mins 40 secs |
Quaxwell
Base Frequency: 1 hr |
The second stage evolutions of the Water-type starter Pokemon are the best unevolved Water types that you can use in case you need more Pokemon for your Cyan Beach team or an extra member to round out your Suicune team once it's introduced into the game.
Best Unevolved Fire Types | ||
---|---|---|
Charmeleon
Base Frequency: 50 mins |
Quilava
Base Frequency: 50 mins |
Crocalor
Base Frequency: 51 mins 40 secs |
Similar to the best Water types, the best Fire-type Pokemon you can use in Pokemon Sleep are the second evolution forms of each of the starter Pokemon from different regions. These Pokemon are best used when trying to fill a Fire-type Entei team or a Tapue Hollow team.
Best Unevolved Electric Types | ||
---|---|---|
Pikachu
Base Frequency: 45 mins |
Flaaffy
Base Frequency: 55 mins |
The best unevolved Electric-type Pokemon that you can use are Pikachu and Flaaffy, which are both fast Pokemon that are good at their respective specialties. These are best used when trying to fill an Electric-type Raikou team.

As of Generation 9, Primeape is no longer the final evolution of Mankey. Annihilape, the evolution of Primeape, was added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Annihilape is not yet available in Pokemon Sleep, but once it's added into the game, Primeape will be considered an unevolved Pokemon.
In order to evolve your Pokemon, you need to fulfill certain requirements and have enough of your Pokemon's specific candy. The requirements differ per Pokemon, so make sure to check what your Pokemon needs by tapping on the Evolve button on their information page when viewing them from the Box.
Most Pokemon only need to reach a certain level in order to evolve, though many also have special evolution conditions such as needing a specific item or a certain amount of sleeping time.
