Version 1.4.0 of Pokemon Sleep has been released! This update introduces the Raikou Research Event and puts a limit on the maximum number of items a Pokemon can hold. Read on to learn about Version 1.4.0 and its patch notes.
Version 1.4.0 of Pokemon Sleep was made available on March 21, 2024 after server maintenance on the app concluded. This update comes three weeks after the Version 1.3.0 update.

| ・ Preparation for the Raikou Research event |
The Raikou Research event will be held starting on March 25, the Monday after the Version 1.4.0 update drops. This event introduces a new event format with the limited-time Event Exchange store and the special event-exclusive items Raikou Mane and Raikou Biscuit.
This event also introduces Raikou, the first Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep.

This likely does not refer to the carry limit of Pokemon, but rather the amount of items a Pokemon can hold after triggering skills such as Ingredient Magnet S or Extra Helpful S.
If you don't pick up the items immediately after triggering these skills, your Pokemon will keep carrying these Berries and ingredients even if their skills trigger again. This can save you some bag space, but with the introduction of Raikou and its Helper Boost (Electric) skill, this technique may cause the game to crash if a limit is not implemented.

One quality of life improvement in this update makes it impossible to discard the valuable Master Biscuit from your bag. This Biscuit is expensive and rare as it can fill up the Friendship gauge of any Pokemon, automatically befriending them. No one would want to have their precious Master Biscuits accidentally discarded.
