*Pokemon Sleep Events begin at 4 AM local time.
*Pokemon Debuts release at 3 PM local time.

Event Mechanics and Bonuses |
|
The Suicune Research event will be held for two weeks similar to the Entei and Raikou Research events. It will start on September 2, 2024 at 4:00 AM local time and end on September 16, 2024 at 3:59 AM local time.
To round out the Legendary trio from the Johto region, Suicune will start appearing in the game at 3 PM local time on September 2, the first day of the Suicune Research event.
Suicune Sleep Type, Helping Stats, and All Sleep Styles
Mechanics for Research Events |
---|
|
Similar to all previous research events, the first week of Suicune Research will be held only in the Greengrass Isle research area.
Greengrass Isle Map and Area Dex
For the second week of the Suicune Research event (September 9 to 16), Suicune's other habitats—Cyan Beach and Lapis Lakeside—will also open up to this event, in addition to Greengrass Isle. You can choose one of these three islands to join in the festivities for week 2.
For the duration of the event, Oran Berry will be a fixed Favorite Berry for these areas, while the other two Favorite Berries will be chosen at random. These Favorite Berries will overwrite the default field Favorite Berries for Cyan Beach and Lapis Lakeside.
Suicune Mane Collection Methods |
---|
|
Collecting Suicune Mane should be possible through sleep research, event missions, Research Community reports, and event bundles during the Suicune Research event. Suicune Mane can then be used at the Event Exchange to get items such as Suicune Incense and Suicune Biscuits.
Younger Pokemon Sleep players that do not have access to a Research Community can also receive a special gift of Suicune Mane to make up for having one less source of this event item.
Week 1 | Week 2 | |
---|---|---|
Extra Ingredients | 1 | 1 |
Main Skill Chance | 1.5 | 1.5 |
Main Skill Level | +1 | +3 |
During the Suicune Research event, Water-type Pokemon will be more helpful. Water-type Pokemon will be able to pick up one extra ingredient and have an increased main skill chance at 1.5x the normal rate.
The Main Skill level for Water-type Pokemon will also be increased during the event. For the first week, Main Skill levels will be increased by 1. During the second week, skills will be increased by 3 levels, which will make Suicune an especially excellent helper to add to your team.
Drowsy Power is expected to be multiplied by 1.5x on September 15, the second Sunday, which is also the last full day, of the event. This is the best time to find Suicune's rarer Sleep Styles!
Following the format of both the Raikou and Entei Research events, a large Snorlax will appear during the start of the second week of the Suicune Research event. This allows players to start at a higher Snorlax rating and potentially make it easier to encounter Suicune's rarer Sleep Styles.
If you choose Greengrass Isle as your research area on September 9, you can expect Snorlax to start at an Ultra 4 rating, similar to past research events.
If you choose Cyan Beach or Lapis Lakeside as your research area instead at the start of the second week of the event, Snorlax is expected to start at a rating lower than Ultra 4 to better match the Snorlax Strength scales of the islands.
The Cyan Beach Snorlax starts at an Ultra 1 Rating. Lapis Lakeside, on the other hand, is the island with the highest Strength requirements per rating, so Snorlax will likely only be at a low Great Rating.
Item | Suicune Mane Required | Limit |
---|---|---|
Suicune Incense | 80 | 2 |
Suicune Incense | 160 | 7 |
Suicune Incense (Week 2) | 70 | 2 |

Main Skill Seed | 350 | 1 |
Water Stone | 120 | 1 |
Suicune Candy | 2 | 100 |
Suicune Candy | 6 | 999 |
A special event store called the Event Exchange will be open during the Suicune Research Event. This is where you can exchange your Suicune Mane for items such as Suicune Incense.
Additional Suicune Incense and Suicune Biscuits are expected to be added to the Event Exchange during the second week of the event, at lower prices.
Event Exchange Store Items and Prices
Suicune Incense cannot be purchased if you already have one in your bag. You can only have a maximum of one Suicune Incense in your inventory at a time. Placing the Incense on a stump still counts as having it in your inventory until it is consumed after a completed sleep session.
Suicune Biscuits will only be usable during the Suicune Research Event. Once the event is over, any Suicune Biscuits you have in your inventory will turn into Great Biscuits.

General Store Purchase Guide: Best Items to Buy
Research Area | Featured Pokemon |
---|---|
Greengrass Isle | |
Cyan Beach | |
Lapis Lakeside |
The best research area for the Water Type Week event is Cyan Beach if you want to see all of the Water types available in the game. This is the only island that has all of the Water-type Pokemon, including Slowking and Golduck which aren't available elsewhere.
Cyan Beach Area Dex and How to Unlock
Lapis Lakeside is only recommended for players who have a high RP Water Type team, since it's difficult to rank up in this area. If your team falls below the recommended Team RP for this island (10,000 RP), it is not advisable to go here.
If you do have a strong enough team for this area, Lapis Lakeside can offer the fastest way to find rarer Sleep Styles, including Suicune's, since they can be found at lower Snorlax ratings here. This can potentially allow you to get more Suicune Mane.
Lapis Lakeside Area Dex and How to Unlock
List of Pokemon | ||
---|---|---|
Squirtle | Wartortle | Blastoise |
Psyduck | Golduck | Slowpoke |
Slowbro | Vaporeon | Totodile |
Croconaw | Feraligatr | Wooper |
Quagsire | Slowking | Suicune |
Quaxly | Quaxwell |
Water-type Pokemon will be more effective during the Suicune Research Event. They will all also have an increased encounter rate during this event.
Blastoise and Feraligatr are the strongest Water-type Pokemon in the game, so you can't go wrong by adding them to your team during the event.
Suicune itself would also be a great Pokemon to use for the event as a Skill Specialist.
