Mew's Snapshot Surprise is a month-long event in Pokemon Sleep that allows Mew to appear in sleep research photos until March 30, 2026. Read on for more information about this Mew event, including the event bonuses, and Mew missions.

Mew's Snapshot Surprise was announced during the Pokemon Day 2026 Pokemon Presents and was made available immediately after the presentation ended.
This event will last for about a month, from the end of the Pokemon Presents on February 27 until March 30, 2026 at 3:59 AM local time.
You have a chance of obtaining Mew by the end of this event. There is also a chance that Latias and Latios will make an appearance, since these two Pokemon were teased in the Pokemon Presents as well.
Mew's Snapshot Surprise Event Mechanics
Collect 25 Snapshots of Mew
During the Mew's Snapshot Surprise event, Mew will appear in at least one photo during your first sleep research of every day. You can increase your chances of Mew appearing in more photos by increasing your Drowsy Power.
There is no difference in the odds of Mew appearing whether you review all photos at once or tap on each sleeping Pokemon one at a time.
You complete all Snapshot Surprise missions once you find Mew 25 times in photos. You will then get a special reward, likely Mew, once this is completed.
Not Available in Second Sleep Session of the Day
If you conduct two sleep sessions in one day, Mew can only appear on the first one. Mew will not be able to appear in the second sleep session even if this session has a higher Drowsy Power.
Mew will also be unavailable if you haven't completed the tutorial yet.
Bonuses for Photos with Mew

Each time you snap a photo of a Pokemon Sleep Style, you receive that Pokemon's Candies, some Research EXP for you, and Dream Shards that all vary in amount depending on the type of Pokemon and how many stars the Sleep Style has.
If the photo you obtain contains a sighting of Mew, all the Candies, Research EXP, and Dream Shards you obtain for that Sleep Style will increase.

There are 8 missions available for the Snapshot Surprise event, all requiring you to find traces of Mew from photos during sleep research. You get better rewards the more photos you find.
Once you find 25 Snapshot Surprise photos of Mew, you'll complete all missions and will receive a special reward that is likely to be an encounter with Mew.
Mission rewards can be claimed until April 2, 2026 at 3:59 AM.
