Pokemon Sleep - iPhone Quick Start Transfer Bug
Pokemon Sleep players who have transferred data onto a new iPhone from their old one using Quick Start have reported getting stuck on the loading screen, unable to use the app. Read on for more information about this bug and how to properly transfer Pokemon Sleep accounts for iOS through account linking or transfer code issuance.

iPhone Quick Start Data Transfer Bug for Pokemon Sleep

Pokemon Sleep Stuck on Loading Screen After Quick Start

The Quick Start feature whenever you get a new iPhone allows you to transfer all your data from your old iPhone into the new one quickly and seamlessly. However, this does not seem to work for the Pokemon Sleep app.

There appears to be a bug that prevents Pokemon Sleep data from being transferred to new devices when using the Quick Start feature. Pokemon Sleep players who have encountered this bug have reported getting stuck on the loading screen, unable to proceed.

To keep your account safe, make sure to avoid relying on Quick Start to transfer your data as this could lead to you losing your Pokemon Sleep account for good.

Fix the Bug by Reinstalling Pokemon Sleep

If you already have social media accounts linked to your Pokemon Sleep account, delete the Pokemon Sleep app on your new iPhone and reinstall it in order to fix the bug. This should allow you to use the app and start the account transfer process on your new phone.

If you do not have any accounts linked to your Pokemon Sleep account, you should still be able to recover your account as long as you still have your old phone with its data intact.

How to Transfer Pokemon Sleep Data for iPhone Users

Link Apple ID or Social Media Accounts

Pokemon Sleep - Linking Accounts

If you still have access to your old iPhone, you should still be able to open your Pokemon Sleep account and properly transfer it to your new phone.

The easiest way to transfer your account to any device is to link at least one social media account to your Pokemon Sleep account. You can do this by going to Settings and More, then tap onto Link Accounts.

You can link either your Apple ID, your Google account, or your Facebook account. If you're transferring to another iPhone, you may find linking your Apple ID to be more convenient. However, if you decide to change to an Android device in the future, you may want to link one of your other accounts as well.

A user must be at least 16 years old in order to link their social media accounts to Pokemon Sleep. For those under 16 or those who don't have any social media accounts to link, you can transfer your data by taking note of your Support ID and getting a transfer code from the app.

From the Link Accounts screen in Settings, scroll down and select Issue a Transfer Code in order to get the transfer code you can use to transfer your data onto a new phone.

Get Your Support ID by Tapping on Upper Right Corner of Home Screen

On the home screen when you boot up the Pokemon Sleep app, you should see a note on the top right corner that says Tap to display Support ID.

Tap this message, and take note of the code that appears. You will need to enter this on your new phone in order to transfer your Pokemon Sleep account.

Uninstall Pokemon Sleep from New iPhone

If you encountered the Quick Start bug on your new iPhone, you need to uninstall and reinstall the Pokemon Sleep app there. Once you've reinstalled the app, you should be able to log into your Pokemon Sleep account either by using your linked social media account or by inputting the transfer code and Support ID issued to your account.
