Raikou is the first Legendary Pokemon to be introduced in Pokemon Sleep. Since it's an Electric-type Pokemon, Raikou is a Snoozing-type sleeper.
Since Raikou is considered a Special Pokemon, you can only have one Raikou in your team at a time. Special Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep likely consist of Legendary Pokemon with more powerful main skills and cannot be combined into one team.
Skill | Effect |

Helper Boost (Electric) | Instantly gets you bonus help from all Pokemon on your team that increases in amount the more Electric-type Pokemon species are on your team. |
Raikou has an exclusive skill called Helper Boost (Electric) that is especially strong if the rest of your team consists of Electric-type Pokemon.

The Nature and sub skills of the first Raikou you befriend will be the same for all players. The ingredients and level, however, may vary.
You first Raikou will always have a neutral nature, not increasing or decreasing anything in particular. It has good sub skills for Skills Specialty Pokemon including Skill Level Up S and Skill Trigger S. The gold Sleep EXP Bonus is also an excellent first sub skill to have.
Nature | Increased Stat | Decreased Stat |
---|---|---|
Gentle | Main Skill chance | Energy recovery |
Careful | Main Skill chance | Ingredient finding |
Sassy | Main Skill chance | EXP gains |
The best nature we can hope for Raikou is one that increases the chance of triggering main skills.
Sassy would probably be the most appropriate Nature since it boosts main skill chance and reduces EXP gains. The Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon in the game such as Tyranitar and Dragonite require more EXP in order to level up. This concept of slow leveling may also apply to Legendary Pokemon.

Although Raikou can be found naturally on Greengrass Isle, it is a very rare Pokemon, only available at a high Master Snorlax Rating. To easily encounter Raikou, you can use a Raikou Incense on Greengrass Isle.
Raikou Incense can only be obtained in the Event Exchange of the Raikou Research Event.

To encounter Raikou after your sleep session, you need to move around a little and make some noises while sleeping.
This Pokemon may appear if you're able to balance tossing, turning, and staying still during the previous night.

Yes, it is likely that Raikou can be found Shiny in Pokemon Sleep. So far, all Pokemon added into Pokemon Sleep can be Shiny immediately upon their introduction. There are currently no known Shiny-locked Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep.

Pokemon | Type | Evolution Requirement |

Raikou | This Pokemon does not evolve. | |
Like most Legendary Pokemon, Raikou cannot evolve.
Raikou requires more EXP than the average Pokemon, about 1.8 times more, in order to reach the next level.

Unlike many other Pokemon, Raikou only has three Sleep Styles. Raikou cannot do the Atop-Belly Sleep Style. Perhaps this is because Raikou is too heavy, or maybe it just doesn't want to electrocute Snorlax.
