The items obtained from Gimmighoul and Gholdengo will be random no matter what item you give it.

Gimmighoul has the Collect Specialty and can be found on the north side (top side) of Rocky Ridges, inside the abandoned mansion. Players may need to complete his request first before you can use the Collect Specialty.
Gimmighoul Habitat and Specialty
Set up habitats that can attract Pokemon with the Collect Specialty! The easiest ones being the Mini Museum habitat, where you can get Gimmighoul.
How to Build Every Type of Habitat
Players can relocate Collect Pokemon and their Habitats to other areas to help Ditto restore other wastelands.
However, we do recommend having at least one Collect Pokemon in each area instead of having them relocate every time you move to another area. This is to reduce the hassle and keep you engaged in finding new Pokemon to befriend.

Talk to Gimmighoul and select the “I brought you something cool!” dialogue option to use the Collect Specialty. Then, it will ask you if you want to trade a Lost Relic, a Rainbow Feather, or a Silver Feather.
Players will only need at least one of the three available items to trade. After selecting which item to trade, it will give you one random item. Players can trade as many items as they like, as long as they have the resources to do so.
