How to Complete a Pokemon's Unfinished Business
Finish Their Related Requests
If you try to get a Pokemon to follow you out of an area before all their related requests are complete, you will be told that they stilll have unfinished business in their current area.
To complete their unfinished business, you will need to reach the end of that Pokemon's line of requests, alongside other requests related to that Pokemon.
Complete Important Requests For Story Pokemon
For Pokemon who have a role in an area's story, you may need to complete the area's important requests first. Pokemon who are related to area requests are usually those that will introduce you to the area, requested by NPCs, or teach you new moves.
If you have already completed the important requests, and a Pokemon still cannot move, it likely means that they are still needed for another Pokemon's request at a higher trainer rank.
Pokemon Not Related To The Story Can Move Anytime
Pokemon who you spawn and have no important story role can be moved to a different area anytime as long as they don't have an active request.
How to Move Pokemon to a Different Area
Get Them to Follow You To The Gate
To move a Pokemen to another area, simply ask them to follow you. Lead them through the gate of the area you want to move them to. If you plan on moving them there, make sure to build them a home in advance.
How to Move Pokemon Between Areas
Fast Travel Using Return Home
If you have a Pokemon following you, you can also fast travel using the Return Home option found in the Pokdex menu. The Pokemon will appear with you as long as you have a house in the area.
