You can create a dry habitat in Pokemon Pokopia by placing it away from plants and water sources. Check out how to make your habitat dry and which Pokemon have a dry ideal habitat in this guide!

Use Dry Blocks to Create a Habitat

Pokemon Pokopia - Use Dry Field Grass

It's best to place a dry habitat on dry blocks such as dry field grass and barren ordinary soil, since these blocks are guaranteed to not have any moisture.

You can also build houses made of dry blocks for your Pokemon to live in. You can obtain dry blocks by using Rock Smash on any dry field grass or barren ordinary soil you come across. This is an abundant resource if it has not yet rained in your Withered Wasteland.

If your main island has been fully watered, you may be able to find more dry blocks on Dream Islands such as the Wasteland Dream Island, which can be visited using an Eevee Doll.

How to Build Houses and Structures

Place a Smooth Rock

Smooth Rock Range

The Smooth Rock item dries up the area surrounding it, affecting blocks and vegetation up to 5 blocks away from the Smooth Rock. This allows you to create dry blocks and is a good item to place in the home of a Pokemon who prefers dry habitats.

Take note that the effect of the Smooth Rock is not instantaneous. It may take a couple of seconds for the area around a Smooth Rock to dry up.

Avoid Water

It is best to create a habitat that is away from a water source, since water increases the humidity of an area—the opposite of what a dry habitat requires.

Make sure there is no body of water that is within the borders of the habitat. You can check the area that a habitat covers by pressing the Right Stick on your controller.

Remove any flowers and plants near the habitat to decrease its humidity. Dry grass and other withered plants are fine to place near or within the habitat, since they do not contribute to humidity. Dry grass can be made by using Leafage on dry soil.

Build a Roof

It's a good idea to build a roof over any dry habitat to prevent it from being rained on. You don't have to build a full house if you don't want to. You can simply add a wall that's about 4 blocks tall to one side of the habitat and add blocks from the top horizontally to cover the entirety of the habitat.

However, if you decide to build a house and move your Pokemon into it, it will increase their comfort level more.

You can also get rid of rain by bringing a Burn specialty Pokemon to a Sunny Day site. However, once dry ground has been rained on, it will no longer be dry.

When creating a habitat for a Pokemon, doing it in a cave is a viable option. To dig out a cave, use Rock Smash on a wall until you have enough space to build a habitat. You can hold ZR to continuously punch blocks and destroy them.

You can also look for a natural cave in the area and build a habitat or house there. Make sure that the cave has a full roof, so that the ground will be completely safe from rainwater.
