Build a House with a Roof

Pokopia - Roof

When building a house, make sure there is a roof and no windows, to completely cover it from the sunlight or any other light source.

You can build a house by making an enclosed space using blocks, adding a door, and placing at least 3 pieces of furniture. When building a house with a roof, it is recommended to have the house be at least 3 blocks high inside in order for you to comfortably enter it.

Alternatively, you can use building kits to have a pre-built house that is fully enclosed.

Remove All Light Sources

When creating a habitat, make sure to remove all light sources like glowing mushrooms and lamps to get rid of the light. Similarly, get rid of campfires that are near the house as they also emit light.

Build a House Around a Habitat

Pokemon Pokopia - Build A House

You can build a house around an existing habitat to cover it from the light. As usual, make sure there is a roof and no windows, so no light source can come into the house.

Don't forget to add a door so that you and the Pokemon living there can still enter and exit the area.

Build a Home in a Cave

Pokemon Pokopia - Dig Cave

If you find a cave in the area, you can build a habitat or house inside it. Make sure that the the cave has a full roof with no holes to properly keep the home shaded.

You can also dig out a cave yourself by using Rock Smash to go through the side of a mountain until you have enough space to build a habitat.
