How to Break Glowing Spots

Use Rock Smash

If the Glowing Spot is in front of you, you must use Rock Smash in order to destroy and break the rock open.

Rock Smash can be learned from Hitmonchan after completing their requests and befriending them.

Aim Downwards For Ground Blocks

Sometimes, the glowing blocks you must break will be under you, requiring you to aim downwards by positioning your camera to face the ground before performing your Rock Smash.

Ancient Artifacts CDs Mysterious Slates

Ancient Artifacts

Ancient Artifacts such as Lost Relics and Fossils can be acquired from breaking Glowing Spots, with Lost Relics needing to be brought to Professor Tangrowth in order to be appraised for its proper value.

Keep in mind that Lost Relics have a chance of detonating upon unearthing, requiring you to use Water Gun to defuse it before it explodes.

DJ Rotom Music

CDs are special items acquired from Glowing Rocks that can be used to change the music that plays in the town. The player must have previously met DJ Rotom for this option to be available.

Mysterious Slates

Among the other collectibles, Mysterious Slates can also be unearthed from breaking Glowing Spots. Mysterious Slates can be attached to the Mysterious Mural found in Withered Wasteland. You will need to match them according to the Unknown Alphabet found on the back of the slate.

Matching all 27 Slates to the correct symbols will unlock a surprise.

Glowing Spots are scattered around the land as you play the game, which can then be broken to acquire items like Lost Relics, CDs, Mysterious Slates, and Fossils.

These are considered rare spawns and only a limited number spawn each day, but there are certain times where additional glowing rocks can be found, allowing you to reap more rewards if you find them.
