Preloading is Now Available

Pokemon Pokopia is now available to be preloaded if you have pre-ordered the digital edition of the game on the Nintendo eShop. This will allow you to launch and play the game at 12 AM on March 5, 2026 in your region.

Wait If You Cannot Play the Software Yet

When you start playing the game during its midnight release, you may come across an error that tells you that you cannot play the software yet. You may need to wait for a few minutes before starting the game to fix this.

How to Preload

Pre-Order on the Nintendo eShop

Open the eShop
Go to the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch 2 or the official website (Note, this store may differ based on your region).

Search for Pokopia
Search for "Pokemon Pokopia" then click on "Proceed to Pre-order."

Purchase the Game
Click next to proceed and choose your payment method.
4 Confirm your pre-order at the bottom of the page.

Preloading
Go back to the Home Screen and the game will automatically preload. Wait for it to download to play the game on its release date!

To preload Pokemon Pokopia, you first need to pre-order the game on the Nintendo eShop.

After purchasing the game, you'll be able to preload the game before its release date.

The estimated file size for Pokemon Pokopia is 10 GB. Make sure your Nintendo Switch 2 has enough memory space available for the game before preloading.

If your memory is near full, you might need to delete other game data, or prepare a microSD card to store more.

MicroSD Express Card May Be Required

If your Switch 2 does not have free space to download the digital version of Pokemon Pokopia, consider purchasing a MicroSD Express card to increase its capacity.

Do note that only MicroSD Express cards are compatible for the Nintendo Switch 2, as regular MicroSD cards are not supported by the console.
